$25 adoption fees at Blackfoot Animal Shelter Oct. 4-9

BLACKFOOT — For the first time, the Blackfoot Animal Shelter is participating in Empty The Shelters.

Between Oct. 4-9, All pet adoptions at the Blackfoot Animal Shelter are just $25. 

“We are extremely full right now,” Blackfoot Animal Shelter Executive Director Amanda Cevering said. “Come on down and see our pets.”

The reduced adoption fee is made possible through the BISSELL Pet Foundation’s Empty the Shelters program.

According to the Empty the Shelters web page, During Empty the Shelterspeople have the opportunity to save a life by choosing adoption or fostering. During this nationwide event, BISSELL Pet Foundation will sponsor reduced adoption fees for $25 or less per dog or cat.

“We will do $25 adoption fees on all dogs or cats. It will still include their spay, neuter, health exam and microchip. Then the BISSELL Foundation will reimburse us the remainder of the adoption fee,” Cevering said.

According to the BISSELL Pet Foundation’s website, Cathy Bissell created the national foundation in 2011.

“The foundation’s goal is to help reduce the number of animals in shelters and rescues, and to find a loving home for every pet,” according to the website.
