Bingham County Sheriff Log: Nov 27 – Dec 1

This log is only a partial report of all incidences reported to the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office. It contains only those incidences that occur in northern Bingham County. The Sheriff’s Office handles dozens of emergency calls each week, deploying police, fire, and medical services in this area. Community Pioneer omits individuals’ names and specific addresses. Otherwise, the incident log is reported as written. The following is a list of most of the incidents reported and responded to by Bingham County Deputies between Nov. 24 – Dec. 1.

Nov 24

3:57 p.m. Animal Complaint — 800 N, Basalt — Firth reporting loose horses in the road.

4:21 p.m. Animal Complaint — Highway 91, Firth — Near MP 111, 2 stray dogs in the area: white/brown pitbull other black dog both wearing collars, RP unable to catch them. RP was passerby.

5:28 p.m. Traffic Complaint — 800 E, Shelley — Newer blue Volkswagon passenger car with no plates, swerving all over the roadway.

Nov 25

5:42 p.m. Residential Alarm — 775 E, Shelley — Burglar alarm, shop entry door. Homeowners not in town, request dispatch.

Nov 26

7:27 a.m. Accident — E River Rd, Firth — On East River Rd, just hit a deer. Deer still alive. car totaled. no one injured, blocking. In a gray Honda Odysey.

2:52 p.m. Request Assistance — E Center St, Firth — RP is absentee landlord from Washington, has questions about paper service wanting deputy to call her.

4:03 p.m. Traffic Complaint — Interstate 15, Firth — Gray Ram tuck no plates throwing Bud Light out window. Hit RP’s car.

5:21 p.m. Animal Complaint — 900 E, Shelley — RP states there is a large black cow loose, currently in the middle of the road on 900 E. Unknown owner.

6:06 p.m. Animal Complaint — 635 E, Shelley — Pointer short hair female that is loose in the area since this morning and has not found an owner. RP will take care of it until an owner is found.

7:17 p.m. Traffic Complaint — Interstate 15, Shelley — Heading southbound in northbound lane – Semi truck. blocking the

Nov 27

12:18 a.m. Information — 665 E, Basalt — RP reporting her ad her children’s lives are in danger. Advised that a friend (name removed) is strung out and is threatening her life. RP advised that he showed up at her work 4 times an hour ago. He advised her that he was going to get a gun and come after her. RP has a text from (name removed) saying that he is going to stab her.

9:16 a.m. Residence Burglary — 1550 N, Shelley — Witnessed via ring – Male subject arrived in a black passenger car that is walking around the residence.

7:14 p.m. Traffic Complaint — Interstate 15, Firth — Stolen license plate only (license plate number removed) and being displayed on a red Toyota Corolla.

Nov 28

2:48 p.m. Welfare Check — 1100 N, Shelley — RP’s daughters 14 & 15 year olds snuck out in Idaho Falls. RP heard they are walking around Shelley near this address. Was staying at (name removed) residence with her son (name removed) who goes to Shelley High. Subjects left 25 min ago on foot. (subject names and descriptions removed).

4:49 p.m. Animal Complaint — Firth — Found a clear trash bag near the fire pit with a couple dead cats inside. Appears to have been beaten to death. Leaning up against a tree. At the spot before the boat ramps where it curves, at the “pulloff roundabout,” tree is in the middle of that round about.

11: 58 p.m. Shots Fired — 1140 N, Shelley — RP says her neighbor (name removed) to the west has been shooting off a gun and yelling. RP said she has heard about 4.

Nov 29

9:53 a.m. 700 N, Firth — Missing a male Airedale fawn with some black and white (looks like a large Lab/Poodle cross) unknown if wearing a collar. He is not neutered and don’t think he’s chipped. Missing for the last several hours.

5:39 p.m. Grand Theft — E Wolverine Rd, Firth — RP stating that 10 or 11 cadalac conerters have been stolen. Someone has also stole parts off of harvesting equipment. A cell phone has been left at the location. RP would like to make a report.

8:54 p.m. Fire Call — 1000 N, Shelley — RP sees flames, possibly a haystack on fire – there are no homes, there is a barn.

Nov 30

Nothing reported in the Firth/Shelley area.

Dec 1

9:06 a.m. Animal Complaint — Interstate 15, Firth — Brown/white Border Collie loose, seems friendly. RP does have it detained, relayed from ISP.

10:04 Animal Complaint — 775 E, Firth — RP states that a mail carrier was bit by a dog. Broke the skin.
