Best of 2021 Shelley Police logs

We have gone through and found our favorite calls the Shelley Police Department received during 2021. These, in our opinion, are the best “busy body,” “messed up,” “WTF,” and “why would anyone call the police over that” calls from the 2021 Shelley Police logs.

January

Jan. 1, 12:12 a.m. Fireworks Complaint — Park Ave — RP believes she has heard gunshots at least 14 from the north of her residence. RP during the middle of the call thought maybe it was fireworks – the sounds were loud and scared her.

February

Feb. 26, 1:32 p.m. Threats-Harassment — W Oak St — RP is being threatened by his son’s ex-wife (name removed) who states she is gonna pop a cap on her and her son (name removed). She would like to meet with an officer.

March

March 13, 11:56 p.m. Disturb the Peace — W Fir St — RP states that somebody just slammed a Book of Mormon against their door and then took off. RP did not see what they looked like. Occurred just 30 seconds ago. Did not see where they went. would like to file a report.

March 21, 8:18 p.m. Disturb the Peace — W Maple St — For the last two hours RP has been getting random knocks on her door.

April 2, 10:35 p.m.  Suspicious Circumstance — W Fir St — RP stated two juveniles in a black Chev truck were possibly throwing eggs.  They dropped an egg by the caller’s house.  They got into the truck and went eastbound on Fir and north of Hansen.

May 8, 2:18 p.m. Information — E Fir St — Male and female fighting.

May 30, 6:36 a.m. property damage — Holley St — Neighbor’s sprinklers are on and spraying over the fence and flooding her patio. RP has not contacted the neighbor to try and fix the issues.

June

Jun 7, 7:51 p.m. Suspicious Circumstance — Topaz Dr & Ruby Cir — Male in older white van with no plates parked on Topaz, smoking something from a pipe. Darker skinned, wearing neon pink shorts and nothing else. Hung some towels outside of the vehicle.

June 9, 10:20 p.m. Traffic Complaint — S Emerson Ave — Reporting a younger juvenile on a four-wheeler not wearing a helmet and driving in a reckless manner, was last seen heading northbound on Emerson from Fir. Could not provide further description of the four-wheeler or the juvenile.

June 22, 10:10 p.m. Harassment Phone — S Emerson Ave — RP is receiving harassing text messages from an unknown number. RP believes it could be (name removed) trying to cause problems with the RP and her boyfriend. Requesting to speak to an officer.

July

Between July 1-4, there were a total of nine complaints mentioning fireworks.

July 2, 5:36 p.m. Traffic Complaint — Longhurst Ln — RP states there is an older open top white Jeep with children standing up screaming and yelling and driving at high rate of speed up and down Longhurst. Have done it several times now, last seen just 2 ago.

July 6, 6:27 p.m. Request Assistance — E Maple St — Stated that a teenage daughter was driving with a permit with her boyfriend that is 18 without permission from her parents would like to speak with a officer about it.

July 10, 7:57 p.m. Indecent exposure — W Fir St — There is couple on the lawn that appear to be having sex. They are at the end towards the baseball diamond, by the parking lot. Male has dark hair with white shirt, female dark hair.

August

Aug. 2, 5:17 p.m. Mental Health Issues — W Pine St — RP states he has incriminating evidence and needs to speak to the FBI. Cannot say over the phone cause he states they’re listening. RP states there are 2 males outside following him around outside now.

Aug. 4, 3:58 p.m. Civil Stand-By — W Center St — They deliver bottled water, new account and delivered to the wrong residence. She is going to keep his water and informed him not to return and that she was going to keep the water.

Aug 15, 4:55 a.m. Suspicious Circumstance — W Center St — RP reporting that they were just woken up by their dogs barking. RP got up and saw a teenager in only underwear running through their backyard. The teenager’s shoes are in the RP’s yard.

September

Sept. 14, 9:27 p.m. Request Assistance — S State St — RP stated that his daughter was not provided the correct amount of change at the business during lunch hour. RP is upset at the way the manager spoke to him when speaking with the business at the close of the day.

October

Oct. 13, 5:59 p.m. Welfare Check — W Pak St — RP has received some disturbing photos of a residence in which his nephew is residing. Would like to be contacted by the officer that responds.

Oct. 19, 10:27 a.m. Malicious Injury — Holley St — Stated some(one) spread poop on her front windows and sprayed something else on her other windows.

November

Nov. 1, 7:52 p.m. Theft-Petit — Broulim’s — Mother and juvenile are back en route to the store to report a theft of a grocer item.

Nov. 28, 11:21 p.m. Information — W Oak St — RP’s ex-boyfriend (name removed) is burning items in her residence.

December

Dec. 7, 10:17 p.m. Disturb the Peace — W Maple St — Upstairs neighbors stomping all over and making noise. Says they are doing it on purpose.

Dec. 13, 8:46 a.m. Request Assistance — E Elm St — RP states that his neighbor’s dogs have been barking nonstop. RP has called previously and they now are retaliating against them by pointing a light directly into the RP’s home. RP states that they have also installed a camera that faces the RP’s yard. RP would like to speak with an officer.
