Shelley Police Log: March 16-23

The Shelley Police Department handles dozens of emergency calls each week, deploying Police, fire, and medical services. Community Pioneer omits individuals’ names and specific addresses. Otherwise, the incident log is reported as written. The following are most of the incidents reported and responded to by the Shelley Police Department between March 16-23.

March 16

3:17 p.m. Traffic Complaint — 800 E — RP states that she is behind a truck dragging a cable.

5:26 p.m. Burglary Vehicle (Unfounded) — Family Dollar — RP was at the Family Dollar about 15 minutes ago and left her grey/white floral leather patched purse inside her white Chevy. Doors were unlocked. There was white male outside store was waiting outside asking for a ride. Last seen wearing red overalls on and overweight in his mid 40’s.

8:07 p.m. Suspicious Circumstance — Family Dollar — Family Dollar customers have come in indicating that they have been in line for over 20 minutes and the clerk may possibly be locked inside the bathroom.

9:03 p.m. Request Assistance (Unfounded) — Shelley — RP states there is a male knocking on the window and will not leave.

March 17

9:23 a.m. Theft-Petit — N State St — Theft of Pallet

12:39 p.m. Animal Complaint — W Maple St — RP states a dog charged out of one of the apartments and went after the RP and her dog. The female then put the dog in the truck and yelled at the RP stating “you want him to get you too?”

2:45 p.m. Civil Stand-by — Family Dollar — Around 4 p.m. RP has to fire her assistant manager (name removed) for stealing money, and would like an officer to be present. RP has not reported the stolen money, they just discovered it this morning.

March 18

1:08 a.m. DUI — N Highway 91 — Arrested

3:24 p.m. Traffic Complaint — Skate Park — RP states there is a male on a red sport bike that is doing wheelys in the area.

6:21 p.m. Animal Complaint — W Fir St. — RP stated that she is concerned for the dogs – 2 large dogs – RP stated the dogs never go outside – unknown who the owners are.

March 19

10:29 a.m. Theft-Petit (Unfounded) — Good To Go — Cell phone was just taken while he was inside the business.

1:21 p.m. Animal Complaint — Hummingbird Ln — Located a black Lab female with no collar. Requesting to have it picked up.

1:38 p.m. Unwanted Subject — S Milton Ave — A male followed them home in a red Mazda 3 – RP is marked out in the street.

7:32 p.m. Suspicious Circumstance — Opal Ct & N Park Ave — RP and brother were riding 4 wheeler on Opal Ct, Walmart blue basket w/ makeup products possible stolen property. IT’s near the storage units. RP and brother will be on scene on a 4 wheeler waiting for officers.

8:17 p.m. Trespass (Unfounded) — S Milton — RP advised his client drove by the address in the last hour and saw vehicles at the address (names and phone number removed). (Vehicles believed to belong to subjects) Subjects have been told previously on Wednesday that if they came back they would be trespassed. Vehicles are behind the house. RP is getting this information 3rd hand. RP request contact.

March 20

3:59 a.m. DUI (Arrested) — Bingham County — Wrong-way driver last seen at the 112. Traveling southbound in the northbound lane. Uknown vehicle description.

11:43 a.m. Animal Complaint — Sunset Ct — RP states there are German Shepherd loose in the area. Wearing collars, unknown color.

7:13 p.m. Animal Complaint — E Pine St — Black Lab green collar no tags – dog is detained in their back yard would like the dog picked up.

March 21

6:46 a.m. Accident — Anderson St & N Park — RP slid off the road and hit a sign, no injuries – RP will be in a blue Toyota Yaris.

11:06 a.m. Civil Stand-by — Family Dollar — Requesting an officer while an ex-employee (name removed) returns sites to the store.

3:26 p.m. Shots Fired — E Elm St — Red truck drove by the residence belonging to a previous neighbor and she heard a popping noise. Unknow if it is a gun or something different. 2 or 3 sounds a few minutes ago.

4:05 p.m. Suspicious Circumstance — Seminary Ave — Juvenile male stating that he is getting several phone calls from an unknown number and he is scared, see ext.

March 22

11:12 a.m. — Lost Property — E Center St & Highway 91 — Lost water jug and wallet.

March 23

1:39 a.m. Welfare Check — W Maple St — RP requesting a welfare check on her mother (name removed). She was receiving odd messages from her earlier and then she was unable to get a hold of her. RP just now received a text from her stating that she is in a bad way and isn’t able to do anything about it. RP attempted to contact her again but she is not answering the phone.

8:14 a.m. Theft-Petit — N State St — RP states that someone has been stealing the pallets at the above location. Unknown suspect information. RP has video footage. This occurred last week as well.

11:40 a.m. Fraud — W Maple St — RP states a male (name removed) that she has been talking to for months sent her a check to cash, and when the RP cashed it, it was fraudulent and is now facing charges from the bank for it.

5:22 p.m. Harassment — W Maple St — RP states that a neighbor, possibly (name removed) keeps coming into the RP’s yard screaming and yelling at her, also taking her dogs to use the restroom in her yard. She resides in (address removed). RP would like contact first.
