Bingham County Sheriff’s Log: March 13-23

This log is only a partial report of all incidences reported to the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office. It contains only those incidences that occur in northern Bingham County. The Sheriff’s Office handles dozens of emergency calls each week, deploying police, fire, and medical services in this area. Community Pioneer omits individuals’ names and specific addresses. Otherwise, the incident log is reported as written. The following is a list of most of the incidents reported and responded to by Bingham County Deputies between March 13-23.

March 13

8:48 a.m. Welfare Check — Roosevelt St, Firth — Request welfare check on a patient who has an alcoholic son living there who has HX (sic) of attempting suicide. The son was apparently kicked out of the home 2 days ago. RP had an employee go by there to deliver some meds who discovered the son has returned. There is (vehicle description removed) with an empty gun case in the vehicle. RP is concerned for her patient’s welfare because of the history with the son. (Names removed). RP is more worried about a weapon being in the home.

2:50 p.m. Animal Complaint — 1330 E, Shelley — Ongoing problem with across the street neighbor’s dogs being loose. Were cited last week and the dogs are loose again. RP wants contact.

3:50 p.m. Shots Fired — N Franklin Ave, Firth — Heard 3 shots from the residence behind his location. Believes it’s the residence next to the white house. Did not see anything or hear any vehicles in the area

5:08 p.m. Bus Violation — N Highway 91, Shelley — Drive through on a bus stop arm about 35 minutes ago a white truck with red rims (license plate number removed).

March 17

4:17 p.m. Welfare Check — 885 E, Shelley — At 1:35 p.m., RP got a call from anonymous female stating that a (name removed) is residing with his grandparents (names removed). States that (person one) is abusing them but would not state how. The female stated she is afraid that if officers go out there, (person one) will take it out on them. RP can be contacted if needed.

4:58 p.m. Bus Violation — N Highway 91, Shelley — Stop arm violation. Suspect vehicle white Nissan (license plate number removed). Occurred at 4:05 p.m.

6:50 p.m. Agency Assist — 500 N, Firth — RP with Health and Welfare needing assistance interviewing for a rape case. Is en route from Ridleys in a gray Nissan Pathfinder. See extended.

March 18

10:31 a.m. Animal Complaint — 900 N, Shelley — RP missing a female black Labradoodle no collar.

March 19

2:11 a.m. Mental Health Issues — 1400 N, Shelley — Request to speak with an officer. Won’t give any further information. RP is home alone and there is something that was left out that shouldn’t have been left out.

10:31 a.m. Traffic Complaint — N Highway 91, Shelley — Southbound from Bonneville County red/white MC and black MC that were driving well over 100 mph.

6:24 p.m. Theft-Grand — 1200 N, Shelley — RP just found items taken from her residence (stereos, rims, car parts) fence was cut and vehicles broken into. RP suspecting this is related to recent narcotics activity located in the nearby cemetery.

March 20

12:15 p.m. Animal Complaint — 1330 E, Shelley — RP stated their neighbor’s dog is coming across the street and is aggressive towards her dogs – RP would like neighbors talked to – Owners will be (names removed).

7:29 p.m. Accident — 1200 N, Shelley — Vehicle hit telephone pole – Unknown if injured, line is down on top of her car.

10:32 p.m. Animal Complaint — 1200 N, Shelley — RP reporting that their two German Shepherds got loose. One is all black and the other is black/brown with floppy ears. Black female should have a collar on.

March 21

3:04 p.m. Wanted Subject — 600 E, Firth — Possible location on wanted subject (name removed). RP does not believe he is at the residence now but will be later this evening.

11:05 p.m. Accident — 1100 E, Shelley — RP’s daughter hit a deer, she’s uninjured. Deer still alive. RP on scene now.

March 22

12:30 p.m. Request Assistance — 1475 N, Shelley — RP states that last night her received a call from his brother that was intoxicated. His vehicle appears to be damaged, possibly from a crash. White paint transfer. RP would like to speak with an officer. Suspect is (name removed).

6:14 p.m. Animal Complaint — 1000 N, Shelley — Just came home, had his 6 month old black/brown Kelty dog with I’m but had to run inside, was only inside for a few minutes when he heard the dog yelping and ran outside and the dog is gone. Stated someone had to have taken the dog from his yard. Dog was wearing a homemade collar made from a man’s belt.

8:23 p.m. Fireworks Complaint — City of Firth — Reporting juvenile in the Firth City Park lighting off firecrackers for the last 30 minutes.

11:23 p.m. Traffic Complaint — N Highway 91, Firth — RP reporting that he is following a passenger car that is unable to maintain lane of travel or speeds. Keeps slamming breaks.

11:35 p.m. Animal Complaint — 1100 E, Shelley — Have victim of dog bite in the ER. Victim was advised to contact our center once discharged and back at their residence.

March 23

8:18 a.m. Information — 810 N, Basalt — RP states that (name removed) is making threats against the RP’s and her children’s lives. Unknown where he is.

11:21 a.m. Threats-Harassment — 850 N, Basalt — RP states his stepdad (name removed) is making threats against the RP, states he’s going to beat up the RP and his sister next time he sees them and harassing them via landline.
