Firth Cougar Football advance to 2A Finals

POCATELLO: The Firth Cougars (8-2) take on the Bear Lake Bears (9-1) in the Idaho 2A Football State Championship at Holt Arena at 8 pm tonight.

Last Saturday night, the Cougars beat the Aberdeen Tigers 34 to 20, earning a third trip back to the 2A finals searching for a win. Firth faces off against a worthy opponent, the Bear Lake Bears, to whom they lost their second regular season game 14 to 21.

In the semifinal playoff last Saturday night, Bear Lake beat Westside 28 to 27 in overtime, the same score they beat them at home during the regular season. The only game the Bears have lost their season opener against North Fremont, where they lost a close one, 24 to 22.

Tonight’s matchup between the Cougars and the Bears will be a good one. If you can’t make the game, you can watch it on the NFHS Network, will broadcast it live online. Let’s go, Cougars!
