Shelley Mayor restricts parking on all public streets
SHELLEY – Mayor Stacey Pascoe activated the city’s ordinance that restricts all types of vehicles from parking on public streets within the city of Shelley to help the city crew clean snow off of the streets. The proclamation is to take effect tomorrow at 4 a.m.
This afternoon, Shelley Mayor Stacey Pascoe made a proclamation under City Code 9-9-4 for everyone within the city to remove all their vehicles from off the city streets by 4 a.m., Monday, December 27. The purpose of this issuance is to allow city personnel to clean the streets without maneuvering around parked vehicles. The Mayor gave no specific date or time when the proclamation would end.Â
The proclamation includes any motor vehicle, motorcycle, trailer, recreational vehicle, or other vehicle or equipment of any kind, according to Section 9-9-3 of the city ordinance. Read Ordinances.Â
“I start plowing at 4 a.m. and people get upset because we push the snow up around their vehicles, which makes it difficult for them to get out to go somewhere, said Public Work’s Director Justin Johnson. So, it’s good to have the Mayor make a proclamation so the vehicles can be moved before we plow.â€
The proclamation was publicly announced through the city’s text wire system. People may sign up for those alerts by going to the city of Shelley’s webpage. The sign-up is on the lower right side of the page.Â
