Bingham County Sheriff’s Log: Feb 23 – March 1
This log is only a partial report of all incidences reported to the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office. It contains only those incidences that occur in northern Bingham County. The Sheriff’s Office handles dozens of emergency calls each week, deploying police, fire, and medical services in this area. Community Pioneer omits individuals’ names and specific addresses. Otherwise, the incident log is reported as written. The following is a list of most of the incidents reported and responded to by Bingham County Deputies between Feb. 23 – March 1.
Feb 23
1:29 p.m. Request Assistance — 1425 N, Shelley — RP advised this morning at approximately 9:30 a.m. (name removed), neighbor, came onto the property. RP has ongoing dog problems with her and RP has been trespassed from their property previously, now he would like to have her trespassed from his property. She is not currently on the property, RP request deputy respond out.
2:01 p.m. Grand Theft — 850 N, Shelley — RP states someone broke into her mother’s house and stole her purse. RP is on scene.
4:51 p.m. Request Assistance — 1200 N, Shelley — A Lift driver is trying to assist a female to her residence but she is refusing to answer. Driver is (name and phone number removed). RP would like an officer to respond.
Feb 24
2:10 a.m. Agency Assist — 900 E, Shelley — RP reporting that her client 49-year-old (name removed) has been having medical issues and is incontinent. Patient is refusing to let the caregiver lean her and when the caregiver attempted the patient hit her. She is needed to report the physical altercation and transport the patient to the hospital.
5:43 p.m. Agency Assist — South I-15, Firth — Vehicle accident involving a dark colored Toyota passenger car – lost control and went into the median.
5:46 p.m. Motorist Assist — N Highway 91, Firth — Stuck southbound lane waiting on tow gray Volkswagon. Vehicle is dead.
8:06 p.m. Slide Off — South I-15, Shelley — Slide off 111, right shoulder Chevy Cruz (license plate number removed), no injuries. ISP is extended.
9:21 p.m. Welfare Check — 900 E, Shelley — 3rd party advising they received an emergency alert from one of their Lyft drivers for police assistance. RP is only able to advise that the driver is heading northbound on 900 N in a silver ’14 Ford Focus (license plate number removed). Vehicle is en route to (address removed) and the app is showing his ETA is 9 mins.
10:22 p.m. Slide Off — North I-15, Shelley — RP reporting they witnessed a black truck go off the road into the trees and then back onto the interstate before doing back off the shoulder. RP advised the vehicle is upright and RP is unsure if they stopped or continued driving.
Feb 25
8:10 a.m. Accident — 1275 N, Shelley — 2 vehicle crash. Chevy Malibu vs Toyota Tundra. No injuries. No blockage.
8:36 a.m. Animal Complaint — 600 N, Firth — RP states that 4 horses just ran westbound past her residence. Unknown owner. Running toward 91. They are smaller Shelton Pony type, light-colored.
5:53 p.m. Traffic Complaint — 675 E, Shelley — Southbound on 675 E green Subaru Forester (license plate number removed), RP advised vehicle keep going onto shoulder and pumping brakes previously on Highway 91. Driving suspiciously. RP willing to sign if located.
Feb 26
2:06 p.m. Unwanted subject — Washington St, Firth — Female hollering at the RP (name removed). She is refusing to leave.
3:04 p.m. Information — 1200 N, Shelley — RP states that she is having issues with renters and would like to speak with an officer.

7:55 p.m. Prowler — 1200 N, Shelley — There is female on the RP’s property that is not leaving. Dark brown hair and RP cannot tell what she was wearing.
Feb 27
12:45 p.m. (Report regarding suicidal subject removed).
2:18 p.m. Request Assistance — 800 N, Basalt — Heard someone leave in his vehicle, did not see it leave. Stated that a family member took the vehicle without permission – vehicle does not have tags vehicle blue/07 Chevy Uplander R/O, nephew (name removed). Unknown where he would be going. He asked his father to borrow his vehicle and the dad told him no so he took the RP’s keys and left.
Feb 28
7:02 p.m. Welfare Check — E Center St, Firth — RP is worried about a female (name removed). RP says the male (name removed) has threatened to kill her and hurt the children. RP says she is scared.
7:34 p.m. Civil Complaint — 1200 N, Shelley — RP states they were behind on rent and made arrangements to get it paid, and got it paid. However, they are now being evicted and their gas was also shut off. Landlord is (name removed).
March 1
6:47 a.m. Request Assistance — Idaho Supreme, Firth — Two vehicle accident. Two newer dark colored trucks. No blockage, no injuries.
9:44 a.m. Animal Complaint — 400 N, Firth — RP reporting that (names of male and female removed) are abusing their animals. RP states that their dog is always on a chain. Dog has a shelter that is broken down, and is not drinking or eating. They also refuse to take them to the vet.
2:44 p.m. Request Assistance — 800 N, Firth — RP has civil protection order with ex, ex showed up to the house when she wasn’t supposed to multiple times with most recent incident being the 25th at this location. Other party (name removed).
7:15 p.m. Motorist Assist — E Wolverine Rd, Firth — RP’s wife (name removed) is in a white Ford truck and has been stuck for approximately 2 hours. RP is also on his way out there in a gray Toyota Tundra with Texas plates, but concerned because he cannot get a hold of anyone in the vehicle.
