Bingham County Sheriff’s Log: Jan. 20-27
This log is only a partial report of all incidences reported to the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office. It contains only those incidences that occur in northern Bingham County. In this area, the Sheriff’s Department handles dozens of emergency calls each week, deploying police, fire, and medical services. Names and specific addresses have been omitted. These statements below materially represent the information in each report with only grammatical changes for flow and clarity. The following is a list of most of the incidents reported and responded to by Bingham County Deputies between Jan. 20 through Jan. 27.
Jan. 20
6:19 p.m. Animal Complaint – A caller, living east of Shelley, reported six horses in her yard.
6:03 p.m. Request Assistance – An individual out of town reported his daughter was under the influence and his wife was not in the right frame of mind to deal with it. He believes his wife is asleep upstairs. The caller requested a deputy remove his daughter from their home.
8:20 p.m. Agency Assist – An unknown person or entity requested a deputy see if a white 2004 Honda Civil is still abandoned along northbound I-15 at mile marker 100.
Jan. 21
12:08 p.m. An individual living southwest of Firth reported his neighbor has two different trailers on the property full of dogs. There is a foul odor coming from them. The neighbor also had two small horses in the front yard.
1:55 p.m. A K-9 Presentation was made at River View Elementary.
Jan. 22
5:56 a.m. Accident – A gold Toyota Corolla crashed at the North Bingham County Park. The vehicle was not drivable. However, there was no report of injuries.
3:02 p.m.        Business Burglary – The Pacific Corp power substation near Goshen reported copper was missing from their property. It must have been taken over the last couple of days.  Â
5:51 p.m. Business Alarm – Dispatched received multiple burglar alarms at the front door to Simplot Grower Solutions, located on Country Club Road, east of US Highway 91, north of Shelley.
8:36 p.m. CPO Violation – An individual living southwest of Firth reported she has an active Civil Protective Order against a person who sent her a group message with a Youtube video attached. They would like to talk to a deputy about this matter.
Jan. 23
11:32 p.m. Request Assistance – A person living in Firth would like to register and check to see if the pistol she purchased was stolen.
2:59 p.m. Request Assistance – An individual living south of Shelley reported, “two windows were broken out on the side of the residence, and in the back, there is no fence.”
3:25 p.m. Animal Complaint Found – A person on West River Road, north of Firth, reported they found a dog at 11 a.m. today. It is a grey and white mutt with one blue eye and one brown eye. It has a black collar.
7:40 p.m. Abandoned Vehicle – An individual reported a black truck parked halfway in the road across from Jameston Estates, northeast of Shelley.
Jan. 24
There were no reports in the area on this date.
Jan. 25
10:20 a.m. A caller living northwest of Shelley reported two white horses walking down the street in front of the caller’s home.
11:29 p.m. A caller northeast of Shelley reported he is intoxicated and is trying to get to Idaho Falls walking along the highway. He is wearing a black coat.
Jan. 26
10:10 a.m. Animal Complaint – Lost – A caller north of the Woodville Townsite reported missing a male chocolate lab with a brown collar and tags. The dog has been chipped and neutered and has been on the lam since 6:30 a.m.
7:19 p.m. Abandoned Vehicle – A broken-down white PT Cruiser with Utah License plates was left by the tennis courts at the North Bingham County Park. It had broken down a week prior. A note was left on the window to contact the owner. The owner was contacted and said he would remove it by today. However, the vehicle is still there.
8:52 p.m. Animal Complaint – An individual living in Green Acres east of Shelley reported their neighbor’s chickens got attacked by another neighbor’s dog, who killed them. They claim the two neighbors had an altercation.
9:26 p.m. Animal Complaint – A caller reported their mother, who lives in Green Acres, “had her chickens killed by a neighbor, that neighbor then came over and was being verbally aggressive [to their mother].” The caller was en route to translate.
Jan. 27
12:09 p.m. A deputy responded to a home north of Basalt after a 911 hangup on a landline. The deputy reported the woman had mistakenly called 911 while trying to contact Medicare.
