Lori Ann (Durbin) Moad, peacefully passed away on Thursday September 16, 2021 at the age of 61. She had been fighting cancer for almost four years. Amazingly, she worked until a couple of weeks before she passed. Lori was born December 16, 1959 in Idaho Falls. She was the third child of John Leo Durbin and Iva Ruth Mittelstedt. She has 2 older brothers, Guy (Vicki) Durbin of Idaho Falls and Rick (Cammie) Durbin of Victor, Idaho. Her Uncle Phil and Aunt Ann Durbin, who lived next door to Lori growing up, were like her second parents. Lori graduated from Shelley High School in 1978. She married Michael Roy Moad on September 8, 1988. Lori and Mike lived in Shelley until they built a home in Iona on Mike’s family homestead.
Lori has had a number of jobs including Walkers Café, Slusser Wholesale, Martin Stationers, Idaho Falls Regional Hospital, Home Care Medical, Nexus Mortgage and Lending, and for the past 6 years she has worked for Brad Hall and Associates. In 2014 Lori graduated from the University of Phoenix with a degree in Business.
Lori is preceded in death by her parents John and Iva Durbin.
Lori’s hobbies include doing all kinds of crafts, researching her ancestors and compiling family histories. Lori will be remembered by her family and friends as having a kind and giving heart and her willingness to help all. She was selfless and always thought of the needs of others before her own.
A special thanks to her lifelong friends Russ and Pam Bradley, Aunt Joyce Knowles, and Uncle Phil and Aunt Ann Durbin for their constant care these past few weeks as well as all the family and friends that sat with her. Lori was blessed to have Mike by her side through their 33 years of marriage. He was a wonderful and attentive care giver. We are grateful for the tender mercies and miracles that the Lord has blessed Mike and Lori with through their journey.
