Shelley Police Log: Dec 8-21
The Shelley Police Department handles dozens of emergency calls each week, deploying Police, fire, and medical services. Community Pioneer omits individuals’ names and specific addresses. Otherwise, the incident log is reported as written. The following are most of the incidents reported and responded to by the Shelley Police Department between Dec 8-21.
Dec 8
9 a.m. School Incident — Shelley High School — RP reporting that there is a car speeding there the parking lot near the bus loading zone.
9:06 a.m. Accident — W Maple St — 2 vehicle crash. No injuries. Some blockage. Silver Chevy 300 vs blue Honda Civic.
9:59 a.m. Information — W Maple St — (Name Removed) is leaving the residence in a white Chevy. RP has a Civil Protection Order with the subject.
11:23 a.m. Trespass — N Park Ave — RP states that there is a group of males in the back of her property. Appear to be school-aged.
11:47 a.m. Civil Complaint — Juniper Ct — RP states that he recently purchased a firearm and is now wanting to sell it. The RP has questions regarding selling. Requesting to be contacted via landline.
2:17 p.m. Welfare Check — S Park Ave — Request for welfare check on (name removed) 4, as the mother is “couch surfing.” The RP also states that she saw them at the store and they looked “not well.” Mother is (name removed). Unknown vehicle description. Possibly staying at the above location.
Dec 9
9:20 a.m. Agency Assist — N State St — RP stating they’ve recovered a stolen Uhaul truck. (License plate removed). RP requesting to be contacted.
9:32 a.m. Request Assistance — W Maple St — (Name removed) walked outside – RP stated he needs to be served papers for a protection order that she has with him RP has called several times.
12:38 p.m. Accident — Shelley High School — White Toyota Camry and other passenger car fender bender accident.
11 p.m. Motorist Assist — Shelley PD — RP’s blinkers won’t turn off, and his battery is going to die. Is in a white Chevy Malibu.
Dec 10
10:12 a.m. Civil Complaint — S Holmes Ave — RP stating she sold a vehicle to (name removed) and he has not been making payments. She would like to file a report.
11:09 a.m. Civil Stand-By — Shelley PD — At noon, RP will be in a black Chevy Colorado, other party is (name removed). Custody exchange.
11:32 a.m. Request Assistance — W Maple St — Meet RP in front building at entrance. Needing plates ran to make sure vehicles aren’t stolen prior to towing.
Dec 11
1:33 a.m. Animal Complaint — Basic American Food — RP reporting that a Huskey-type dog wandering into the business. RP tried to approach it but it ran back out and is loose in the area. Unknown if it had a collar on.
3:18 a.m. Animal Complaint — S Milton Ave — RP reporting there is a khaki brown pit bull loose in the area. Green collar. It is causing the other dogs to bark.
5:41 a.m. Suspicious Circumstance — Opal Ct — RP reporting there is a dark colored Dodge Durango parked across from her apartment that she has never seen before. There were 3 males in the vehicle wearing hats and smoking. RP didn’t recognize them but is concerned because she had to leave for work and her 18-year-old daughter is home watching the younger kids. RP is requesting it be checked out.
7:10 a.m. Animal Complaint — S Milton Ave — RP states that he has detained a brindle pitbull with a green collar. Requesting it be picked up.
7:50 a.m. Agency Assist — 1340 E — RP states that in the area of the above location they are unable to access the houses because the roadway is black ice.
8:04 p.m. Welfare Check — W Fir ST — RP states the male in this apartment (name removed), was feeling ill and lightheaded today, last heard from at 12:35 p.m. stating he was going to lay down and will not answer the phone or the door. RP is waiting outside.
8:16 p.m. Request Assistance — Shelley — RP has questions regarding her daughter and grandkids, wants to know specifics about if daughter was in custody what would happen to the kids. Advised daughter lives in the area of some apartments on Maple.
Dec 12
1:18 a.m. Wanted Subject — W Oak St — Confirmed felony 29 for German Villegas Velasques O/O Jefferson. Who is allegedly at the residence. Vehicle he was driving, 2009 Silver Chevy Silverado, during the pursuit was registered to his cousin at this address. Vehicle is missing a front fender.
1:45 a.m. Runaway — W Fir St — RP cannot find her 14-year-old son, believes he’s at his friend’s house however no one is answering at the residence.
11:41 a.m. Abandoned Vehicle — E Elm St — White PT Cruiser has not moved in over 6 months. Unknown plate number.
6:18 p.m. Possession – Controlled Substance (arrested) — W Maple St — Eyes on stolen vehicle.
11:36 p.m. Information — E Pine St — RP states there was someone trying to break in, and RP heard them saying they were going to break in.
Dec 13
1:46 a.m. Possession – Controlled Substance (arrested) — Highway 91, Firth — (License Plate removed) is over White older GMC truck.
8:46 a.m. Request Assistance — E Elm St — RP states that his neighbor’s dogs have been barking non stop. RP has called previously and they now they are retaliating against them by pointing a light directly into the RP’s home. RP states that they have also installed a camera that faces the RP’s yard. RP would like to speak with an officer.
4:42 p.m. Wanted Subject — W Maple St — Subject (name removed) has warrant, RP requesting welfare check on grandchild (name removed) 2-year-old. Earlier today (name removed) was supposed to pick up another one of her children at school and failed to do so, RP has heard she has been actively using drugs. See extended for RP’s contact info reference the child being cared for.
7:32 p.m. Request Assistance — W Fir St — Make contact at location reference issues (names removed).
9:15 p.m. Disturb the Peace — W Maple St — Tenants that reside above the RP continually jump on the floor and cause a disturbance. RP requesting to have her stop for the night.

8:47 a.m. Request Assistance — S Byron Ave — RP stating she is locked out of her house, and there are two people with disabilities inside the residence that cannot be left alone.
6:27 p.m. Welfare Check — Opal Ct — Priority abandoned callback/ambulance call from 12-2020.
Dec 15
4:11 a.m. Agency Assist — 1500 N — RP reporting a Nissan (license plate removed) has wrecked in the RP’s driveway. May have hit the trees.
7:21 a.m. Accident — Arctic Circle — Three vehicles unknown injuries blockage.
2:44 p.m. Suspicious Circumstance — Hummingbird Ln — RP stating there have been two males going door to door, possibly stealing packages from residence. Driving a white Subaru Outback (license plate removed). 1 male is bigger, wearing blue short-sleeved shirt, jeans and gloves. Other male has longer hair wearing all black. Currently Parked.
Dec 16
8:41 a.m. Animal Complaint — N Park Ave — RP stating there is a brown Husky Dog in the area. Wearing a blu.
10:29 a.m. Welfare Check — W Maple St — RP requesting a welfare on (name removed) and 2-year-old grandson. RP last had contact with (name removed) on Monday, and has not had further contact with her. RP would like to be contacted after.
10:33 a.m. Agency Assist — E Fir St & N State St — RP stating a white utility truck with yellow rusted bumper that is throwing garbage out of the vehicle.
7:46 p.m. Suspicious Circumstance — E Center St — RP stated that a male was knocking on her door and then knocked on their window in the dining room.
Dec 17
12:23 p.m. Welfare Check — Brinkman Park — 5-10 ago approx 10-year-old small girl all wrapped up in a dark blanket under a pavilion at the park. RPtalked with her, no one was with her. Concerned for her welfare, RP request contact with results.
2:01 p.m. Welfare Check — S Byron Ave — RP is disabled, doesn’t know where her provider is. RP advised her helper has been missing today for 20 minutes. RP thinks something happened to her, advised she may be under the influence.
3:54 p.m. Welfare Check — N State St — 3rd party report of a female that has been living in her car at the above location. She will be in a silver crossover-type vehicle near the bathrooms. RP states that she has been there for at least a week.
6:35 p.m. Suspicious Circumstance — October Cv — RP states there is a suspicious male in a 2 door cream Audi no plates that has been parked there for approx 30 minutes. He did go up to neighbors house, and unknown if he got back in his vehicle after. RP would like contacted via landline after.
Dec 18
12:36 p.m. Welfare Check — S Holmes Ave — Request for welfare check on the RP’s mother and brother. RP states that they received an emergency family text from the brother but no one is answering the RP’s phone calls. Mother is (name removed) and brother is (name removed). RP states that she received the text over an hour ago.
12:55 p.m. Threats-Harassment — W Maple St — RP states that (name removed) is threatening her life. Stating he’s at the gas station in Idaho Falls heading to her house.
9:23 p.m. Request Assistance — W Maple St — (Name removed) is a patient currently at EIRMC. They have been trying to get in touch with his roommate, (name removed). Would like us to attempt contact at the residence and have her go pick him up or call EIRMC.
9:37 p.m. Suspicious Circumstance — Shelley High School — A dark colored SUV just pulled into the parking lot and is parked over by the semi-trailer. Vehicle is running and no one has gotten out.
Dec 19
10:45 a.m. Found Property — E Center St — Moped sitting near his yard – Noticed it in October at another house nearby. RP stated he has checked with several neighbors and no one knows who it belongs to. Requesting it be picked up.
8:49 p.m. Animal Complaint — Shelley — 22-year-old female at Ready Care Channing Way with dog bite. Occurred in Shelley unknown location.
Dec 20
1:01 a.m. Agency Assist (unfounded) — W Oak St — RP advised (name removed) threatened him with a gun in Idaho falls 1.5 hours ago and now he’s en route to RP residence from Idaho Falls. Drives a silver 2007 RAM 1500 or silver Ford F150. RP was too frightened to call IFPD when it happened.
9:53 a.m. Tobacco Violation — Hobbs Middle School — RP just received a call from the school requesting an officer to the main office for a tobacco violation.
10:01 a.m. Accident — Broulim’s — Broulim’s parking lot. RP sideswiped another vehicle. No injuries and no road blockage. RP driving a yellow CT transportation bus other vehicle is a gray/green Nissan Altima.
1:17 p.m. Malicious Injury — S State St — RP states someone has broken into her storage unit. RP is now unable to get it opened. RP on scene in a grey Toyota van.
7:42 p.m. Traffic Complaint — Exxon — RP states that they were cut off by a white passenger car (license plate removed). RP in a white car at the Family Dollar to meet with an officer.
11:41 p.m. Traffic Complaint — Highway 91 — Large Ford Truck silver in color with back tail light that is out that is unable to maintain lane of travel heading southbound. RP has been following from the York exchange.
Dec 21
1:19 p.m. Traffic Complaint — Subway — RP is following a silver passenger car that is swerving. RP is following in silver Subaru.
2:42 p.m. Malicious Injury — W Locust — RP states a group of kids came into the laundromat and damaged the building. Broke out the window and damaged other things. RP would like to file a report. RP also has footage of the incident.
