Christian Kent Buxton obituary

Wood Funeral Home Obituary

Christian Kent Buxton of Idaho Falls, passed away unexpectedly in his home on January 3, 2023. He was only 21 years old. Christian was born on February 19, 2001, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to parents Christine and Joel Buxton. Our family’s hearts break at this tragic and devastating loss.

Christian grew up in Shelley, Idaho, and graduated from Shelley High School in 2019. In school, he enjoyed running track, playing video games, and going out with friends. He then found purpose and passion in joining the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a patriot and was honored to fight for the freedom of his country alongside the brothers he found there. He enjoyed his role as an accomplished machine gunner, chasing the thrill of explosions and overseas travel. While he spoke of miserable hikes, long, sleepless nights in the field, and difficult days of deployment, his willingness to sacrifice comfort in the name of discipline and excellence shone through. He carried himself with exceptional strength, valor, and grit.

Amidst his inspiring qualities, Christian’s life force was his huge, sensitive heart. He loved unconditionally, deeply, and fully. He always offered quick forgiveness without blame or resentment. Ever since he was a baby, he made everyone laugh with his witty, light-hearted personality. His beautiful grin melted hearts, and his quirky smirk gave away all his mischief. He was very playful and loved to bring the fun, play tricks, do silly impressions, and crack jokes with impeccable timing. Christian’s favorite pastimes were riding his motorcycle, spending time with friends, and going to the gym. He was also a talented artist, a friend to animals, and loved luxury cars.

Christian was a beautiful, loving son, protective brother, devoted husband, and loyal friend. He is survived by his parents, Joel and Christine Buxton; his sister, Kelsey; and his wife, Hailey.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. Prior to services, there will be a family viewing from 10-10:45 a.m. The burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery.
