Shelley Police Log: Nov. 26-Dec. 3

The Shelley Police Department handles dozens of emergency calls each week, deploying Police, fire, and medical services.   Community Pioneer omits individual’s names and specific addresses.  The following are most of the incidents reported and responded to by the Shelley Police Department between Nov. 26 through Dec. 3.

Nov 26 – Thanksgiving Day

1:47 pm           Property Damage – An individual called Police to report someone had broken the glass to the LDS Church’s front door on South Park.  The caller was en route and would meet the officer there. 

3:30 pm           Welfare Check – A person called the Police claiming a man was slowly driving away in his SUV from his child who was walking toward it on the side of Baseline Road.  The child was wearing a coat. 

Nov 27

8:46 am           Traffic Stop at North Park, and Anderson – The officer made a consent search of the vehicle. 

6:30 pm           Property Damage – An individual on W. Maple called the Police claiming the night before, around 10:30 pm., she noticed someone had tried to break into her apartment as the handle to the door had been broken.

Nov 28

12:04 am         Disturbing the Peace – A person on W. Locust called the Police to ask them to tell their neighbor, who they claimed was playing a low base, to quiet down. 

1:35 am           An individual on US Highway 91 called the Police to report their brother felt like he was going crazy and was possibly under the influence. 

6:56 pm           Welfare Check – A person on W. Oak called Police to report a man in a GMC truck was driving all over the road and almost hit several parked cars before pulling into a driveway.  The person said he thought the individual was intoxicated. 

Nov 29

8:01 pm           An individual called Police to report a vehicle parked at the LDS Church on South Park was on a jack and was missing a tire.  The person said no one was around the vehicle, and they were concerned the owner may not know the vehicle was missing a tire. 

Nov 30

2:18 am           An individual called the Police saying their daughter, who lives on Hummingbird Lane, had called claiming someone was threatening her.  The caller did not know the person’s name but understood they were driving a truck with a lift kit. 

9:00 am           Animal Complaint – A person reported a stray black dog without a collar running around the North Bingham County Library.  The officer did not find the dog.  

2:51 pm           O’Reilly’s Auto on S. State St. called to report a vehicle had been left in their parking lot for several days. 

6:19 pm           Suspicious Activity – An individual reported two vehicles in the drive-thru lane of East Idaho Credit Union.  The caller was concerned because the credit union is closed, and its ATM is inside the front entry, not in the drive-thru. 

6:33 pm           Exxon Good to Go on S. State St. called to report a vehicle left in their parking lot for more than five days.  

11:51 pm         Police found an unlocked door to the athletic hallway at Shelley High School.

Dec 1

2:45 pm           Traffic Complaint – A person called to report a driver of  white van was swerving all over the road on North State Street.  The driver appeared to be intoxicated. 

6:30 pm           An individual on North State Street requested an officer make an investigative report on a person whom they claim was stalking. 

10:19 pm         Traffic Complaint – A person, while driving at the intersection of Edwards and W. Fir St., called the Police because she believed an intoxicated driver in a jeep was following her. 

11:16 pm         Business Alarm – Police were alerted to a security alarm at the Family Dollar Store on S. State Street. 

Dec 2

8:15 am           Exxon Good to Go called Police reporting they planned to tow the vehicle that now had been in their parking lot for more than a week, but wanted to know if law enforcement wanted to reach out to the owner before the car is towed.   

1:04 pm           Structural Fire – A person living on Hanson Avenue called to report a shed was on fire. 

6:35 pm           An individual called to report a vehicle accident in the Domino’s Pizza parking lot.  No one in the accident was injured. 

11:26 pm         Police found an unlocked door at Shelley High School. 

Dec 3

9:25 am           Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance in finding an individual who may be at a residence on S. Holmes Avenue.  Police responded and detained the individual, who had a warrant out for his arrest.  He was later transported to jail by Bonneville County deputies. 

9:26 am           A petit-theft was reported on South State Street.
