Still time to dump Christmas trees

SHELLEY — If you haven’t dumped your Christmas tree yet, now is the time.

The city has four locations where people can drop off their Christmas trees, but time is running out for those who haven’t done it yet.

Shelley Public Works Director Justin Johnson said crews usually pick up and dispose of old Christmas trees during the third week of January. However, he said he hasn’t set a firm date to allow locals more flexibility.

“We’ll wait as long as we see more trees being dropped off,” Johnson said.

Christmas tree dump locations:

  • Centennial Park – West Center Street
  • Curt Bingham Park – West Fir Street
  • Shelley Swimming Pool – South Milton Ave
  • Shelley Park – East Oak Street
