Shelley Police Log: Jan 27 – Feb 3

The Shelley Police Department handles dozens of emergency calls each week, deploying Police, fire, and medical services.   Community Pioneer omits individual’s names and specific addresses. These statements below materially represent the information in each report with only grammatical changes for flow and clarity.  The following are most of the incidents reported and responded to by the Shelley Police Department between Jan. 27 through the morning of Feb. 3.

Jan. 27

8:47 a.m.         Suspicious Circumstance – (Carnoustie Apartments)  A suspicious vehicle was in the apartment’s parking lot.  It is a blue, 4-door Subaru with spoiler, black wheels, and a blue cover over the license plate. There are two individuals inside.

1:11 p.m.         Suspicious Circumstance – An individual reported a male got out of a red Suburban parked down past the police station on W. Center and suspiciously walked around the Goodsell Elementary School.

2:48 p.m.         A civil protective order on S. Emerson occurred.   There were no further details.  . 

6:57 p.m.         Civil Complaint – An individual accused a store employee of stealing $20 from his fiancé. The employee works at a business on S. State.  The caller was in the store with the employee.

7:52 p.m.         Accident – An accident between a gold Volkswagon Jetta and a gray Pontiac occurred at Hansen Road and W. Oak.  Both vehicles were blocking the road.  There were no injuries reported.    

8:07 p.m.         Disturbing the Peace – An individual on Opal Court complained his neighbors were blasting their music in an adjoining apartment.  The caller wanted an officer to contact them.

9:38 p.m.         Vehicle Burglary – A person on Edwards said her firearm was stolen from her vehicles several months ago.  She also said two guns were stolen on two separate occasions within the same week.

Jan 28

12:24 a.m.       Tobacco Violation – A vaping issue with a student on W. Pine.  No further details were given. 

6:13 a.m.         Request Assistance – A woman living on W. fir reported her son was abusive and would not leave her room. 

11:11 a.m.       Animal Complaint – Found – A caller on Robin Way reported finding a small, white poodle mix with a yellow collar. 

12:22 p.m.       Driving without Privileges – An individual was arrested for driving on S. State Street with a suspended license.

1:00 p.m.         Accident – An accident occurred at Shelley High School.   No other information was provided. 

1:34 p.m.         Wanted Subject – An individual was arrested at Shelley High School.  No further details were given. 

1:54 p.m.         Business Burglary – A business on Emerson reported their till was clean out during the night.    

2:42 p.m.         Animal Complaint – An individual on Hummingbird Lane reported a missing pit bull, which they recently acquired from someone in Blackfoot.  The dog was chipped. 

4:20 p.m.         Welfare Check – Dispatch received a call from W. Fir with an open line and no background noise.    

5:33 p.m.         Phone Harassment – An individual on Holley Street reported multiple harassments on social media.  The latest occurred this morning.  The caller said he keeps blocking the individual, but she gets new apps to text him. 

9:39 p.m.         Welfare Check – An individual struggling emotionally was requested to be checked on. 

9:43 p.m.         A caller reported a man following his daughter ran a stop sign at W. Fir and Hansen Road and crashed into a residence on the south side of the intersection, wrecking the vehicle.  The driver was now out of the vehicle.  The incident was designated as a DUI, but reportedly no arrest was made. 

 Jan. 29

10:54 a.m.       An individual on W. Fir reported an individual contacted him by a blocked number. 

3:28 p.m.         Vehicle Burglary – An individual on S. Park reported power tools stolen from his vehicle.  No further details were given. 

3:41 p.m.         An individual on Rimrock Lane reported his neighbor’s two dogs were jumping in his backyard and being aggressive. 

8;17 p.m.         Animal Complaint – A individual living on W. Fir reported his mother took his dog to Broliums without a lease, and he is afraid the dog will get run over.  His mother left 2 minutes ago and is wearing a gray hoodie and gray coat. 

Jan 30

3:09 a.m.         An automated message was received stating the wet well at the Rimrock Estates’ sewage lift station was at 18:23 feet.

9:18 a.m.         Attempt to Locate – An individual was reportedly home, who went missing in December. 

1:31 p.m.         Malicious Injury – Someone tried to break into an individual’s apartment on W. Maple yesterday at 11:00 a.m.  No further details were given.

2:30 p.m.         Malicious Injury – “RP’s 2004 White Dodge Ram 2400 keyed the side of a vehicle” on W. Fir. 

5:59 p.m.         Abandoned Vehicle – A white Cadillac has been parked along Opal Court for four months since the reported owner was put in jail. 

11:18 p.m.       Welfare Check – An older male subject showed up at a residence on Edward St. and appeared to be lost. 

11:36 p.m.       A wanted subject was arrested on Short Street.  No further information was given. 

11:46 p.m.       Traffic Complaint – A white truck was serving alongside U.S. Highway 91 south of Baseline near Foundry Road.  

Jan. 31

1:38 a.m.         Curfew Violation – A curfew violation on Holley Street initiated an investigative report regarding the incident.

1:57 p.m.         Animal Complaint – An individual on W. Oak reported a small dog running loose in the area.

2:50 p.m.         Animal Complaint – An individual on Byron reported two dogs attacked his dog.  The dogs live on Barrett. 

Feb. 1

1:10 p.m.         Sexting was reported at Hobbs Middle School.  No further details were reported. 

2:36 p.m.         Animal Complaint – A person on Cedar Street reported their neighbor’s dog was barking non-stop the entire day.  The caller would like an officer to talk to the owner about it.

3:27 p.m.         Disturbing the Peace – An individual on N. State reported a person was causing an issue at a day-care center. 

Feb. 2

9:46 p.m.         Suspicious Activity – An individual reported a Silver Mercedes Benz parked behind the carwash at Good to Go on State St.

10:35 p.m.       Suspicious Circumstances – A person living on N. Holmes reported his wife arrived home and heard a door slam.  He came home and believed someone was in his garage.  He also said a white 4D Chev Truck was parked in front of his home the night before at 1:30 a.m.  The truck’s owner lives down the street.

11:09 p.m.       Prowler – A caller on Topaz reported a guy was looking in her window 5 or 10 minutes ago.

Feb. 3

2:58 a.m.         Business Alarm – A business on N. State reported an office motion alarm was going off. 

6:52 a.m.         An individual on Baseline reported a Jeep Cherokee wrecked outside his home and was on its side. 

9:27 a.m.         An individual was accused of harassment at Hobbs Middle School.  No further details were given.
