More than $8,000 awarded in Distinguished Young Women scholarships
FIRTH — The Firth/Shelley Distinguished Young Women’s program awarded more than $8,000 in scholarships to 11 junior-aged girls. The program was held on April 8, at the Firth Auditorium.
The contestants competed in five categories: scholastic, interview, talent, fitness and self-expression. There were also each required to write an essay on the topic Be Your Best Self.
The young women who participated in the program were:

Ayesha Jolley won the Spirit Award and the Be Your Best Self award.
The second runner-up was Rebekah Frew. The first runner-up was Ayesha Jolley and our Distinguished Young Woman for 2022 is Adelyn Thompson.
