New principal hired for Hobbs Middle School
SHELLEY — The Shelley School Board processed 36 applications before reaching their final decision for the new Hobbs Middle School principal.
At the Shelley School Board meeting Thursday, April 15, the board hired Cindy Kofford as the new principal for Hobbs Middle School for the next school year.
“Cindy came to Shelley School District as a special education consultant/specialist. She’s worked with our special education teachers and provided a lot of leadership and guidance in the special education department,” Superintendent Chad Williams told Community Pioneer.
Kofford has been working in the Shelley School District for the last two years.
“If you look at her resume, she is very well qualified. She is well versed — lots of classroom experience in general education classrooms. Lots of experience in special education,” Williams said. “We’re going to use all of her expertise and she’s going to have a positive impact on Hobbs Middle School.
Dale Clark, the current Hobbs Middle School Principal, is retiring at the end of this school year after decades of service in the Shelley School District.
“I’ve really enjoyed working with Mr. Clark, and getting to know him better. I commend him for his creativity,” Williams said. “He’s shown no signs of ‘trunkiness.’ He continues to be creative and innovative and try new things. We wish him well.”
