Two fugitives with felony warrants arrested in Shelley

SHELLEY – Shelley Police moved in at gunpoint and arrested two fugitives with multiple outstanding warrants on South Park Monday at 7 p.m. 

After receiving a tip that two fugitives with outstanding warrants were hiding in a home at 609 South Park, Shelley Police Officers, and deputies from the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office sprang into action. They arrested Jordan Wade Becker, 24, and Shalee Brianna Chavis, 27.

“Both the male and female have huge felony warrants out of IDOC (Idaho Department of Corrections).  He’s got two, she’s got three and a couple of warrants out of Bannock County for both of them,†Shelley Police Chief Rod Mohler said.

The owner of the home was not there when law enforcement made the arrests. 

After the arrest, the Bingham County K-9 unit investigated the couple’s car parked down the street.  According to officers, the dog made a hit on contraband in the vehicle. However, law enforcement has not said what it was they found.

“I was going to let my daughter walk home from dance,†Britney Olsen, who lives in the area, told Community Pioneer.  “I’m glad I went and got her tonight. This would have freaked her out.†
