Bingham County Sheriff’s Log: July 28 – Aug. 4

This log is only a partial report of all incidences reported to the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office. It contains only those incidences that occur in northern Bingham County. The Sheriff’s Office handles dozens of emergency calls each week, deploying police, fire, and medical services in this area. Community Pioneer omits individual’s names and specific addresses. Otherwise, the incident log is reported as written. The following is a list of most of the incidents reported and responded to by Bingham County Deputies between July 28 – Aug. 4.
4:37 p.m. Found Property — 550 E, Firth — Road crew located a purse belonging to (name removed). Items is currently at R&B on highway 26 needs to be picked up before 5 p.m.
6:03 p.m. Request Assistance — 1500 N, Shelley — (name removed) IFPD would like us to go see if this subject resides at this location has an active 29 out of Bannock.
9:13 p.m. Animal Complaint — Highway 91, Firth — Sheep on the highway north of Firth past Goshen about 1/2 miles, entire herd on the roadway. They were covering both north and south bound lanes.
9:13 p.m. Civil Complaint — 1120 E, Shelley — RP stated that her dog went to neighbors property and the dog was shot in the ear – stated that she is sure that neighbor killed their other dog. Would like to speak with an officer about the situation.
9:42 p.m. Suspicious Circumstance — 1400 N, Shelley — White car station wagon other car is a sporty car in the area – RP stated they have been driving through the area – stated they usually go farther than Stoddard Rd and around the block.
July 29
9:22 a.m. Traffic Complaint — 1200 N, Shelley — Silver Chevy PC with (license plate number removed), sped through the area at 6:30 a.m. RP calling on behalf of (name removed).
12:20 p.m. Motorist Assist — Highway 91, Firth — Semi that is broke down blocking the northbound lane of travel.
4:42 p.m. Animal Complaint — 810 N, Basalt — Neighbor behind her has a German Shepard and a Doberman that are running loose. Owner is (name removed) and is not home at this time.
5:54 p.m. Prowler — 1165 N, Shelley — RP thinks someone is in her home. SHe was in her kitchen and can hear noises in the basement.
9:43 p.m. Traffic Complaint — Rocky Mountain Power — RP is pulled over in a white Chevy truck and the suspect is in a maroon Chevy car.
10:06 p.m. Fireworks Complaint — Roosevelt St, Firth — RP says her neighbors are lighting off fireworks. RP does not wish to be contacted.
July 30
12:02 p.m. Mental Health Issues — Highway 91, Firth — Husband is at the above location burning and torching the cats. (Name removed).
2:42 p.m. Motorist Assist — Interstate 15, Firth — RP states that there are 2 semis stopped on the shoulder, but causing a hazard.
4:00 p.m. Animal Complaint — 1290 N, Shelley — Dogs continually running into the road chasing vehicles. RP has spoken to the owner however nothing has been done to keep the dog in its yard. Owners last name of (name removed) would like them spoken to. Stated dogs are Yellow Lab and the other Black Brown unknown breed.
4:59 p.m. Animal Complaint — 1300 N, Shelley — RP states that there was an older Bassett Hound wandering around. RP has it detained now. Wearing no collar. Requesting it be picked up.
5:12 p.m. Animal Complaint — North Bingham County Park — RP says someone has cut a part of his horses tail off. Unknown when.
6:08 p.m. Mental Health Issues — 1400 N, Shelley — RP’s father (name removed) is currently living with his father at the above location. Her aunt just called stating that he has put a gun on the couch either last night or this morning and is becoming delusional. RP stated there is a CPO between her mother and father in which he is not to have access to weapons. She is wanting to speak with an officer regarding possible options.
7:28 p.m. Traffic Complaint — 900 E, Shelley — RP says there is a black passenger car unknown license plate that is continually racing up and down 900 E. RP would like to be contacted via LL after.
9:53 p.m. Mental Health Issues — 1400 N, Shelley — RP reporting that his ex wife (name removed) and 6 other males keep showing up on his father’s property. This occurred about 5 minutes ago. Advised they showed up on foot and were out by his granary trying to get into the sop to get her belongings.
July 31
12:34 a.m. Parking Complaint — 1000 E, Shelley — There is a semi-truck parked that is not fully off the side of the road. RP is concerned it might be a hazard.
2:36 a.m. Accident — Interstate 15, Firth — ISP requesting a deputy meet with a semi driver pulling mega load with a windmill blade. RP was pulled over sleeping and believes a semi truck hit the blade ad damaged it. Semi Possibly left northbound.
4:06 a.m. Suspicious Circumstance — 1140 N, Shelley — 3rd party. RP reporting she is watching a surveillance camera and there are 2 vehicles that have showed up at 3 a.m. Looks like 2 SUV and there are 2 people on foot with flash lights. RP is unsure who they are and does not want to be contacted.
11:12 a.m. Narcotics Marj – Possession — Interstate 15, Shelley — Silver Chrysler with CA plates that needs a traffic stop. DEA is following.
11:36 a.m. Welfare Check — LDS Church, Basalt — RP states that there is a male in a black mini van that is unloading his personal items out into the parking lot. RP believes the male to be homeless.
4:29 p.m. Traffic Complaint — Interstate 15, Shelley — Gray or Brown Jeep Cherokee swerving and speeding all over. RP in a black Chevy Truck.
6:06 p.m. DUI – Arrested — Interstate 15, Firth — White Ford F350 male driver swerving on the roadway and drinking from a beer bottle as the RP passed. Truck is driving under the speed limit and swerving.
9:28 p.m. Disturb the Peace — 810 N, Basalt — RP reporting the neighbor first name (name removed) has a large truck parked on the corner so that people cannot see past the stop sign and he also has a refrigerator unit running. RP advised he has been told not to park the unit in the area. RP is wanting to sign a citation.
9:56 p.m. Request Assistance — Post Office, Firth — RP reporting that his boss (name removed) was supposed to pick him up after their class reunion. He stated that she brought him down for their class reunion and then left to go see her husband in Bone, Idaho. He attempted to contact her and she said she’d call him back. He is currently stranded at the Post Office.
10:22 p.m. Hazard — 1200 N, Shelley — On 1000 E close to 1200 N there is a trailer that appears to have been vandalized, debris all over the road and is causing a hazard in the roadway. Large writing that says “Shrimp Boys” on it.
10:35 p.m. Animal Complaint — 1225 N, Shelley — RP found a grey Chihuahua/Yorkie mix with a little shirt on that says “mad love for my mama” and green collar. RP has it currently at their residence.
Aug. 1
7:42 a.m. Animal Complaint — 1200 N, Shelley — RP states that they have located a male Chihuahua mix wearing green bandana collar. RP in white Ford pick up with camper. Requesting the dog be picked up.
9:20 a.m. Suspicious Circumstance — 600 N, Firth — RP states that last night around 12:00 a.m. a male came running to the RP’s door and left running. RP would like to speak with an officer.
11:34 a.m. Malicious Injury — Interstate 15, Shelley — Black Ford F350 that has 2 flat tires and broken out window and keyed the driver side. (License plate number removed)
3:02 p.m. Wanted Subject — Interstate 15, Firth — 3 subjects. 2 have warrants.
4:48 p.m. Threats-Harassment — 800 E, Shelley — RP is an executive of state for her deceased father’s property, and she is unable to get her sister (name removed) and the son (name removed) off of the property. They were threating the RP when she came out to try and get them to leave. Also stated they are using narcotics, and threatened a drive-by shooting of the RP’s residence in Idaho Falls.
8:29 p.m. Missing Person — 700 N, Firth — RP says (name removed) lives on her property and she has not seen him in over 24 hours. RP says he is diabetic and his health has not been doing well, and has not had any insulin or medication since then.
Aug. 2
6:51 a.m. Animal Complaint — Animal Shelter, Shelley — 3 dogs to be picked up at the shelter. County holds are a beagle and a chihuahua, Shelley city is a weiner dog.
11:45 a.m. Animal Complaint — 1000 E, Shelley — There is a Great Dane that is emaciated and has an injury to his eye and has fecal matter stuck to his rear. RP is concerned he is not being taken care of.
2:06 p.m. Animal Complaint — Hanson Ave, Shelley — White pitbull chasing RP’s cows.
6:25 p.m. Request Assistance — 900 N, Shelley — RP has a custody agreement with her ex (name removed) and he is refusing to give back their child and it is now the RP’s time to have the child. RP is at his address in a tan 2003 GMC Sierra. He had come outside screaming at the RP but is now back inside.
11:07 p.m. Request Assistance — 1250 N, Shelley — RP says there is an SUV unknown color or make with an alarm going off and has gon off 6 times tonight.
Aug. 3
12:56 p.m. Civil Complaint — 1540 N, Shelley — RP states that some people have moved som camp trailer onto his property without permission. RP states that they are squatting on the property. RP states that the suspects have dogs that are vicious. RP would like to speak with an officer.
5:20 p.m. Traffic Complaint — Hard Times, Firth — An older red Ram Truck (license plate number removed) swerving on the road – headed southbound – RP no longer following.
7:19 p.m. Civil Complaint — 1100 E, Shelley — RP states her neighbor (name removed) built a motorcycle track next to the RP’s residence. Is not on the RP’s property. RP states they are disturbing the peace and that they placed it maliciously to anger the RP’s husband.
8:34 p.m. Assault — 1300 N, Shelley — Her father assaulted her on Saturday night – wrapped her up like a burrito in a choke hold – she said she bite him – RP’s dad (name removed) – RP is now wanting to press charges against her dad.
10:18 p.m. Disturb the Peace — 665 E, Basalt — Neighbor in the area playing extremely loud music. Requesting an officer to speak with them. (Address removed).
11:10 p.m. Fire Call — 900 E, Shelley — Substation is on fire.
11:34 p.m. Prowler — 700 E, Shelley — Stated that his son ex possibly outside messing around stated their dogs are barking.
Aug. 4
1:17 p.m. Trespass — Hanson Ave, Shelley — Requesting to have (name removed) from her property. Suspect is not on scene.
2:48 p.m. Animal Complaint — 1290 E, Shelley — Two dogs that are running in the road and chasing oncoming traffic – White Lab and a brown dog. Owner is last of (name removed). RP has contacted them about keeping the dogs detained twice and nothing changes.
8:44 p.m. Suspicious Circumstance — Firth River Bottoms — Tent back in Firth River Bottoms that smelled badly – Stated it smelled like a dead animal – RP left the area about 30 minutes ago – RP can give directions to the tet – Advised he didn’t open the tent to see if anyone was inside.
