Shelley Police Log: Aug. 5-17

The Shelley Police Department handles dozens of emergency calls each week, deploying Police, fire, and medical services. Community Pioneer omits individual’s names and specific addresses. Otherwise, the incident log is reported as written.  The following are most of the incidents reported and responded to by the Shelley Police Department between Aug 5 – 17.

Aug 5

7:06 a.m. Civil Complaint — 660 Ruby Cir — RP stated that the father (name removed) left with their infant child yesterday and is refusing to tell the mother where she is located. No custody agreement in place.

8:14 a.m. Animal Complaint — S Milton Ave — Medium/large dark colored dog that belongs to the residence that was aggressively chasing bikers last night. RP Request owners be contacted. RP does not want to be contacted.

2:47 p.m. Parking Complaint — Longhurst Ln — RP says there is a broken down potato truck at the intersection truck at the intersection of Longhurst and Fir causing a hazard.

5:14 p.m. Animal Complaint — Aspen Ave — 3 brown and black boxer dogs running around the area – stated they are scaring the kids – would like the dogs picked up.

5:44 p.m. Accident — S State St — Vehicle backed into their black Kia Optima – Stated the other Vehicle was a gold Suburban.

7:09 p.m. Mental Health Issues (Unfounded) — W Fir St — Reporting a male neighbor is shooting at a female neighbor.

7:12 p.m. Runaway — E Maple St — (Name removed) Ran away about 15 minutes ago – Last seen wearing black sweats possibly gray or blue t-shirt flip flops.

7:22 p.m. Animal Complaint — N Park Ave & Park View Lp — RP said there is a dog that fell in some concrete and RP is requesting they be picked up.

Aug 6

12:05 p.m. Animal Complaint — Family Dollar — RP states that he has located two black dogs, no collars. RP has one detained.

Aug 7

4:46 a.m. Agency Assist — 1100 E — Male fell asleep and rolled his truck. Complaining of back and chest pain.

4:27 p.m. Suspicious Circumstance — N State St — RP is at her storage unit in a white Chevy truck with a flatbed trailer and there is a dog locked in the storage unit. Unknown if it is locked. There is a radio on inside as well.

4:48 p.m. Request Assistance — Hummingbird Ln — RP states his mother-in-law has been yelling at the RP’s children. She has not been physically violent, just yelling.

9:41 p.m. Threats-Harassment (Unfounded) — Holley St — RP requesting to speak to an officer in regards to his wife’s ex husband (name removed) threatening her.

Aug 8

12:16 a.m. Prowler (Unfounded) — W Maple St — RP reporting that someone is trying to get in through her bedroom window.

4:37 a.m. Agency Assist — W Fir St — Bonneville requesting we attempt to make contact with (name removed). They located his vehicle in a ditch on the 700 block of E Sunnyside Road with its engine running and headlights on. There is an empty gun holster (license plate number removed).

5:12 a.m. Grand Theft — W Fir St — RP needing to report two of his vehicles were stolen sometime during the night. Last saw his vehicles around 6 p.m. One vehicle was located in Bonneville. They advised him to file a report in Bingham. When the RP went to respond to Idaho Falls he realized the second vehicle was also missing. Keys were left in both.

7:07 a.m. DUI (Arrested) — Shelley — RP states that he has been following a red pickup that is speeding. All over the road.

3:27 p.m. Recovered Stolen Property — Opal Ct — RP located a 4 wheeler in the canal half way in the way behind the res.

8:24 p.m. Welfare Check — Goodsell Elementary — RP states there are 4-5 children playing in a large dumpster and worried they might get hurt. Does not appear to be any parents around.

Aug 9

5:44 p.m. Animal Complaint — Hummingbird Ln — RP has a white chihuahua detained. Not wearing a collar.

6:36 p.m. Suspicious Circumstance — Opal Ct — RP stating there is a 30 year old female first of (name removed) unknown last that is having a sexual relationship with a 15 year old.

Aug 10

3:19 p.m. Animal Complaint — W Maple St — RP has located a black/white cat with a red/blue collar and bell. RP will keep the cat until an owner can be located. If an owner calls in the RP would like to be contacted by law enforcement only.

5:09 p.m. Traffic Complaint — Eaton Body Shop & Towing — White semi with AG needs INC is parked in the street.

Aug 11

10:22 a.m. Civil Complaint — Shelley — Stated he went to work for someone and they did not pay him. Requested to press charges for theft.

11:27 a.m. Abandoned Vehicle — S Park — Reporting a cutlass (license plate number removed) that has been parked on the property for the last several days. Vehicle is full of garbage and clothing.

Aug 12

11:30 a.m. Traffic Complaint — Doug’s Meats — RP says there is a male driving a dark grey Toyota Truck that is driving slowly but is all over the road.

2:44 p.m. Accident — Shelley High School — Grey Toyota Tundra crashed into a sprinkler system ditch. The RP says the older male does not appear injured but does look intoxicated.

11:31 p.m. Suspicious Circumstance — S Park Ave — RP reporting that they have been tenting a city truck to throw wood in it. RP went out to let her dogs and noticed that the headlights had been turned on. RP has not seen anyone around it and would like it to be checked out and make sure no one has tampered with it.

Aug 13

12:10 p.m. Elder Abuse — So Milton Ave — Requested the chief to respond to her residence ref the above incident.

6:57 p.m. Fire Call — E Center St & S South Milton Ave — Lots of smoke coming from the house. No flame. Unknown who lives there or if they’re home.

7:53 p.m. Welfare Check — W First St — Neighbors having domestic issues, both females. On of them is in her red Ford Taurus in the parking lot, believed to be under the influence of meth. Has a child in the car with her. Other half will not let the female back into their apartment. Welfare check on the female in the vehicle, (Names removed).

9:35 p.m. Traffic Complaint (Unfounded) — Highway 91 — Ford Ranger pickup, South Bound coming into city limits.

Aug 14

8:18 a.m. Traffic Complaint — Highway 91 — White Chevy S10 pick up that is all over the roadway. From shoulder to shoulder.

5:57 p.m. Civil Complaint — N Emerson Ave — RP sold his black Dodge Dakota to a (name removed) who has only paid him two hundred and was supposed to pay 500 in full. RP says (name removed) has the vehicle but RP has the title.

6:59 p.m. Malicious Injury — N Emerson Ave — RP’s roommate (name removed) is slamming his car door into the RP’s black Dodge Avenger door. RP has punched a wall into the bathroom wall. RP says he has been verbally abusive to the children and is highly intoxicated.

10:44 p.m. Harassment (Unfounded) — W Oak St — Had to contact the language line – RP says someone is trying to intimidate him. Unkown who it is. They have since left.

Aug 15

3:04 a.m. Information — W Oak St — RP reporting that there are guys parked outside in a red car.

4:55 a.m. Suspicious Circumstance — W Center St — RP reporting that they were just woken up by their dogs barking. RP Got up and saw a teenager in only underwear running through their backyard. The teenager’s shoes are in the RP’s yard.

10:20 a.m. Civil Stand-By — W Fir St — RP’s friend (name removed) is picking up a car title and keys from (name removed). Male will be in a 2005 Buick Les Saber. (Identifying information removed)

8:02 p.m. Animal Complaint — N Hanson Ave. — RP has a dog detained would like picked up.

10:05 p.m. Information — W Fir St — RP stating their neighbors son is at the house stating the father threatened to kill him. Dads name is (name removed). Juvenile is currently at the RP’s house.

Aug 16

1:20 a.m. Mental Health Issues — Shelley — RP (name removed) In a black Dodge Ram stating that someone was following him with weapons. Possibly 10-96

9:55 a.m. Suspicious Circumstance — Diamond Peak — There is a white Cadilac Escalade that has been parked outside for the last 2 days possibly under the influence of meth. There is a male and female with drool.

10:33 a.m. Parking Complaint — Park View LP — 3 camp trailers and a utility van that have been parked and left for an extended period of time.

4:25 p.m. Request Assistance — Berrett Ave — RP would like an officer to look over her court order regarding child custody.

6:12 p.m. Civil Stand-by — Berrett Ave — Requesting a civil stand-by – stated they are refusing to send child out – RP on scene already will be in a silver Yukon.

7:05 p.m. Information — W Fir St — Had a german short hair – reddish brown short hair loose in the area – stated he is aggressive – unknown owners – would like the dog picked up.

10:07 p.m. Battery — W Fir St — RP states his son (name removed) came to his house and beat him up, and thought he had left but can now see him in the garage.

Aug 17

7:39 a.m. Accident — Shelley High School — Two vehicle accident that has pulled into the parking lot on the west side. Gray Nissan Pathfinder and Red GMC Sierra Truck. No Blockage no injury.

4:14 p.m. Missing Person — Stuart Elementary — Child is missing, 11 year old, states they had an issue yesterday with step parents. He was supposed to walk home to her residence today and did not. He was dropped off at the school. (name removed) is the child. (address removed) is the other parents address. Do not believe he is there.

4:43 p.m. Hazard — N State St & S Emerson Ave — Manhole cover missing. Will place a cone by it.
