Firth Cheerleaders win Districts Championship
IDAHO FALLS – Firth High School Cheerleaders won the 2A Nuclear Conference Championship after taking first in three cheer categories and 2nd in the all-girl stunt category at last Saturday’s District Cheer competition at Bonneville High School.
Neither injury nor sickness nor lack of team practice could keep Firth Cougar cheer from doing what they do best – that’s winning competitions. Firth walked away with their 15th in a row District Championship after winning 1st place in Sideline, Show, Pom, and 2nd in Girls-only Stunt Routine with only several days of entire team practice.
“Our team did amazing. I am so proud of them,†Coach Tracy Rowe said. “We have had to overcome a lot this year. We had so many injuries and then a lot of sicknesses with Covid and everything. Just on Tuesday, we had everyone back for the first time to prepare for the competition.â€
Firth will contend for the 2A State title on February 12 at the Idaho Center in Nampa, Idaho.
Last year the Cougars placed fourth at State while fighting through injuries before and during the competition. We wish the lady Cougars the best as they prepare for and head to the State Championship.
