What are the needs in the community? Shelley Kiwanis wants to help

SHELLEY — Having served the community for decades with the Shelley Annual Spud Day, fundraising at the scone nugget booth at the Eastern Idaho State Fair and the Good Fellows Drive, the Kiwanis Club of Shelley wants to know what more it can do for the community.

The club recently sent out a survey to try and find out what the needs are in the community, and how Kiwanis Club can help meet those needs.

“Kiwanis is for kids. We look out for the kids in our community. And that does trickle into families, obviously,” Kiwanis Club of Shelley President-Elect Kayleigh Searl said. “We want kids to wake up in a community where they feel valued and loved and appreciated and that we’re looking out for their best interests.”

Searle said she believes the Kiwanis Club of Shelley can be doing more to support the children in the community.

“I think there’s a lot of needs in our community that we’re not really aware of,” she said.

The club is asking people to take a moment to fill out the survey below and let it know what are the needs of the community.

“We can’t guarantee that we can do everything, but if they find it beneficial for the overall wellbeing and general wellness of kids and families in our community, I think we’re obligated to do it,” Searle said.
