Bingham County Sheriff’s Log: Feb. 16-22
This log is only a partial report of all incidences reported to the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office. It contains only those incidences that occur in northern Bingham County. The Sheriff’s Office handles dozens of emergency calls each week, deploying police, fire, and medical services in this area. Community Pioneer omits individuals’ names and specific addresses. Otherwise, the incident log is reported as written. The following is a list of most of the incidents reported and responded to by Bingham County Deputies between Feb. 16-22.
Feb 16
10:04 a.m. Extra Patrol — 615 E, Shelley — Stated their ex-babysitter has been texting their children. They are concerned she is going to try and come over and take one of the children, drives a gray 2014 Volkswagon Passat, (name and age removed).
11:46 a.m. Racing — N Highway 91, Shelley — Checked out at this location on traffic.
4:44 p.m. Animal Complaint — 1200 N, Shelley — Missing a male neutered gray/blue/white Heeler mix from the area. Dog has tags with a camo collar.
Feb 17
12:30 p.m. Bus Violation — 1200 N, Shelley — White Ford Focus, (license plate number removed), failed to stop for school bus. Appeared to be high school-age female driving, (name removed). Occurred at 11:35 a.m.
4:17 p.m. Animal Complaint — 550 E, Shelley — Missing red Standard Poodle, female with collar.
4:49 p.m. Civil Stand-by — 1500 N, Shelley — Meet RP at location for a civil stand-by for child custody exchange at 5:30 p.m.
5:33 p.m. Suspicious Circumstance — 625 E, Shelley — Believes (name removed) is driving around the area in a black Lexus sedan. Vehicle was headed southbound on River Rd about 5 ago. 2nd party information from RP’s son. Request area check.
Feb 18
12:07 p.m. Abandoned Vehicle — 1340 E, Shelley — Semi parked in middle of the road since yesterday. Belongs to Doug Andrus Trucking, no flashers on, just the semi, no trailer
5:10 p.m. Animal Complaint — W Oak St, Shelley — RP has white/black Border Collie/Aussie mix dog no collar on that has been in her front yard for a few hours. Unknown who he belongs to.
Feb 19
10:29 a.m. Agency Assist — 900 E, Sheley — RP states that they are out with (name removed) advising she lives at the above location. RP requesting a unit respond and verify that is indeed her home before they take her back there. RP would like to be contacted by deputy prior to their response.
10:59 p.m. Shots Fired — Wilson St, Firth — RP heard rapid gunfire to the southeast of the RP. Approximately 7 or 8 shots, followed by a short pause, and then another burst of 7 or 8 shots.
Feb 20
4:32 a.m. Motorist Assist — N Interstate 15, Shelley — Call transferred from Bonneville. RP is in a silver 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe and got a flat tire and needs assistance getting the lug nut off.
4:51 a.m. Motorist assist — N Interstate 15, Firth — Grey Toyota with hazards on.
1:47 p.m. Animal Complaint — Southbound Rest Area Interstate 15, Firth — RP states that they have detained a stray dog at the above location. RP would like it picked up. RP in a silver Toyota Corolla. WIll be a white Husky, wearing green collar, no tags.
Feb 21
12:00 a.m. Welfare Check — N Highway 91, Shelley — RP says there is a male walking south in a white and tan large coat carrying a black rash bag. RP would like him checked on.
5:03 p.m. Animal Complaint — Noth Bingham County Park — Black Lab running loose in the area, no collar on. RP isn’t sure if it was near the park or what road she was on.
Feb 22
12:25 a.m. Motorist Assist — North Bingham County Park — RP is stuck in the snow inside the park in a red Saturn. RP requesting assistance in getting pushed out of the snow.
6:48 a.m. Slide Off — E Highway 91, Firth — 3rd party information regarding slide off unknown type of vehicle – Unknown if blocking the road.
1:21 p.m. Animal Complaint — 1300 N, Shelley — Found German Shepard wondering around – RP wants the dog picked up – Unknown who the dog belongs to.
