Balmforth takes 1st place at Madison Invitational

REXBURG: Russet Carter Balmforth pinned his South Fremont opponent, taking 1st Place at the Madison Invitational held back on January 14th at Madison High School.

Carter Balmforth, a junior at Shelley high school, took 1st place in a stunning win against a rival school South Fremont at the Madison Invitational. To top it off, he pinned his opponent, which impressed many, and Carter was awarded the tournament’s outstanding wrestler. He has continued his impressive performances on the mat and, in his most recent win, beat a 2x- state champ in overtime. Carter’s goal is to win a state championship and get on the wall under his older brother( Braxton) and father(Mike), both previous state champions.
