Valentine’s Day enters with snow but leaves with bitter-cold weather
SHELLEY: Snowy conditions today give way to clearing, but windy conditions overnight, with temperatures dipping to below zero with the windchill nearing 20 below zero come Wednesday morning.
If you thought Valentine’s Day was cold and snowy, wait till this evening. According to the National Weather Service in Pocatello, temperatures will dip to -2 with the wind out of the northeast at 12 mph with gusts near 31mph.  Because of the wind, the wind chill may dip down to 15 to 20 below zero Wednesday morning.   (Watch the NWS – Pocatello Weather Hazard briefing.)
So, if you haven’t gotten a Valentine’s Day gift for your spouse or significant other, you better do so quickly because you have picked the wrong night to sleep on the couch or, worse yet, be in the doghouse.
The cold conditions will remain in the upper and mid-Snake River plain until Thursday, when another round of storms will be coming in.
