Members of the community gather together to clean parks, cemeteries, pathways, and public areas
SHELLEY: Community members gathered last Saturday, April 22, to clean several public areas around Shelley. Justserve.org organized the event.
Approximately 60 members of the community showed up at various points around the city to help clean up public areas. These areas included the North Bingham County Historical Park, the Taylor Cemetery, the walking path, and the railroad right-of-way through the middle of town.
Volunteers helped clean up piles of leaves and dead foliage around the North Bingham County Historical Park and the Taylor Cemetery. Volunteers also help pick up trash along the walking path and the railroad right-of-way through the middle of the city. The event lasted about two hours.
This coming Friday, April 28, between 9 AM to 12 PM, Justserve has a cleanup event planned for the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery. The volunteers will help clean up branches, leaves, pinecones, and other debris gathered since the snow fell last fall. Bring your gloves and rake and help the Sextons Dan and Karen Eldridge beautify the cemetery for Memorial Day.
