ICCU opens Shelley Branch

SHELLEY:  Idaho Central Credit Union opened its doors to the public on Monday, May 1. Its grand opening was slated for May 18 but has been postponed until the middle of June.

ICCU Shelley branch is at 600 North State Street at the north corner of State Street and Anderson, at the site of the old Kings building. ICCU purchased the land and building in July 2018. Shortly after that, they removed the retail building. In October 2022, ICCU began construction on its building.

On Friday, May 5, Community Pioneer sat down with an impromptu interview with bank manager Tyson Green. Mr. Green has been with ICCU for ten years. During this time, he has worked in Blackfoot and Idaho Falls. But Mr. Green has lived in Shelley for the past ten years.

“My wife and I grew up in New Plymouth [South east of Fruitland] in Western Idaho. We lived here in Shelley in an apartment for quite a while before purchasing a home here in town,” Green said.

As was everyone at the branch, Mr. Green was very kind and engaging.

“We have postponed our grand opening from May 18 to June 15 for the landscaping to be installed around the building. The weather has not cooperated with us this spring,†Greene said.

But now, ICCU is open for business and new customers from 9 AM to 6 PM, Monday through Friday, and from 9 AM to 3 PM Saturday.
