SHELLEY: The 95th Idaho Annual Spud Days event will start this week and go through Saturday, September 16.
As one of the longest-running annual events in Idaho, the Spud Days celebration begins this week with the following events:
Chalk Walk Artist Days, Thursday – Saturday, September 7th – 9th, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., at Stewart Elementary School
MIss Sweet Potato Charm School, Friday, September 8th, 3 – 5 p.m. at Shelley HS Gymnasium
Miss Sweet Potato Pageant, Saturday, September 9th, 10 a.m., at Shelley HS Litle Theater
Chalk Walk Public Viewing, Monday, September 11th, 7 p.m. at Stewart Elementary School
Miss Radiant Pageant, Monday, September 11th, 5 – p.m. at Shelley HS Litle Theater
Miss Russet Pageant, Wednesday, September 13th, 7 p.m. at Idaho Falls Civic Auditorium
Tator Trot, Friday, September 15th, 3:30 p.m. at Shelley HS Track
Street Festival & Music, Friday, September 15th, 7 – 10 p.m. at the corner of Pine Street & State Street
Saturday, September 16th
Spud Run 7 a.m. at Sunrise Elementary
QRU Breakfast 7 – 10 a.m., Senior Citizen Center (Elite Retreat)
Children’s Parade, 9:50 a.m. at Behind Mick’s Diner
Spud Day Parade 10 a.m., along South Byron & State Street.(Community Pioneer will broadcast the parade live on our Facebook page.)
Spud Day Car Show 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Goodsell Elementary School, southwest of Shelley City Park 1 Block
Lipsync Contest 11:30 a.m. at Shelley City Park Entertainment Stage
Cornhole Tournament 11:30 a.m. at Shelley City Park
Free Spud with all the fixins 11:30 – at the southeast Pavillon Shelley City Park
Brolium’s Cup Cake Baking Contest 12 – 12:30 p.m., at Shelley City Park
Potato Picking Contest 12 – 2 p.m. at Shelley City Park
French Fry Eating Contest 12:30 p.m. at Shelley City Park
Potato Sack Races 1 p.m. at Shelley City Park
