The Shelley Police Log
The Shelley Police Department handles dozens of emergency calls each week, deploying Police, fire, and medical services. Community Pioneer omits individual’s names and specific addresses. The following are most of the incidents reported and responded to by the Shelley Police Department between Feb 13th through 19th.
Feb. 13
10:19 a.m. Fraud – An individual on E. Oak reported his wife was frauded about $4,000 over Zillow and Paypal. He would like to speak with an officer.
3:54 p.m. Disturbing the Peace – A person on W. Maple reported a male and female in a downstairs apartment were yelling and being extremely loud. The caller thought it might be domestic as the male was not supposed to be there, which an officer concluded was not the case.
6:00 p.m. Suspicious Circumstances – An individual on Locust called and claimed to be followed by a male in a black trust.
7:51 p.m. A caller on W. Fir reported her 20-year-old son was threatening her. He was at the door during the call.
9:34 p.m. Traffic Complaint – A individual on Bluebird Avenue reported a driver of an SUV was inside the fence of his storage unit complex “spinning cookies.†Officers could not find the SUV.
10:56 p.m. Disturbing the Peace – A person on W. Maple reported people in the apartment above them were noisy and loud. They could hear kids jumping up and down. The responding officer stated it was unfounded.
11:01 p.m. Disturbing the Peace – An individual on W. Oak reported a loud party with loud Latin music in a nearby apartment. The responding officer could not find any loud music.
Feb. 14 No incidents reported
Feb. 15
12:23 p.m. Agency Assistance – Idaho Falls Police Department requested assistance finding a possible DUI driver of a red 2004 Honda Civic. The driver of this vehicle hit another vehicle in Idaho Falls and was last seen heading south. Idaho Falls believes the driver is headed home to a specific address in Shelley.
2:07 p.m. Animal Complaint – A person on Cardinal Dr. reported their neighbor’s dog was barking non-stop.
Feb. 16
12:41 p.m. Parking Complaint – A person on E. Pine reported their neighbor’s vehicles are parked in a way that is causing an issue with the snow.
7:49 p.m. Shots Fired – An individual on S. Park reported she heard a gunshot from an unknown gun. It could have been a firework. She heard only one shot.
10:11 p.m. Suspicious Circumstance – A door was opened at the old Pioneer building.
Feb. 17
9:46 p.m. Residential Alarm – A distress call was received from a residential home on W. Oak.
10:58 p.m. A person on W. Maple reported hearing banging and screaming between a male and female in an adjacent apartment for the past 30 minutes. The responding officer could not confirm any banging or screaming.
Feb. 18
3:01 a.m. Unlawful Entry – An individual broke into a home on E. Center and was still inside when the homeowner called the Police. The individual was arrested.
1:16 p.m. Animal Complaint – A caller at the Food Plaza on N. State reported a German Sheppard was in the convenience store’s parking lot, and they are afraid it will run into traffic and get hit.
1:35 p.m. Civil Complaint – A person on W. Maple reported her ex-husband was not compliant with a court order by working with Child Protective Services on a custody issue.
Feb. 19
9:55 a.m. Agency Assistance – Bonneville County Sheriff asked Shelley Police to contact a woman on Spruce Street about a Honda Accord, which was stuck on the side of the road in Bonneville County. They would like her to speak to a deputy handling the matter.
