Sheriff’s Log: Nov. 11-18
This log is only a partial report of all incidences reported to the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office. It contains only those incidences that occur in northern Bingham County. In this area, the Sheriff’s Office handles dozens of emergency calls each week deploying police, fire, and medical services. Names and specific addresses have been omitted. The following are most of the incidents reported and responded to by Bingham County Deputies between November 11th through the 18th.
Nov. 11
8:56 a.m. Animal Complaint – A lost black male Chihuahua mix, wearing no collar, but chipped, was found wandering along New Sweden Highway, east of the Woodville Townsite.
9:22 a.m. Civil Complaint – An individual south of Firth reported her family member refused to return some of her belongings after being asked to move out of the residence.
9:35 a.m. Property Damage – An individual living along 800 North in Basalt reported someone hit her mailbox.
8:30 p.m. Traffic Complaint – An individual traveling south from Shelley was following a White Chevy Malibu that was driving all over the road.
9:05 p.m. Accident Reported – An individual reported he hit a deer on US 91 just south of Firth and had pulled off to the side of the road.
9:22 p.m. Accident Reported – An individual reported an accident along U.S. 91 between Firth and Wapello.
10:09 p.m. Accident Reported – Van traveling southbound on I-15 at mile marker 103 slid off into the median.
10:24 p.m. Accident Reported – Deputies were dispatched to a vehicle crash southbound on I-15 at mile marker 104. The vehicle was on its top in the median.
10:30 p.m. Agency Assist – Deputies were asked to assist State Police in a non-injury accident at mile marker 98 on Interstate 15 where a vehicle had hit a divider.
Nov. 12
8:44 a.m. A natural gas leak was reported by a homeowner in the lower Presto area.
10:01 a.m. Accident Reported – Deputies responded to a rollover accident on US 91 south of Firth.
11:49 a.m. Request Assistance – Deputies were asked to help an individual who was struggling emotionally south of Shelley.
2:30 p.m. Request for a K9 to a residence in Basalt.
2:40 p.m. Animal Complaint – An individual reported a “black and white cattle-type†dog running loose around US 91 and Baseline Road.
Nov. 13
2:14 a.m. Welfare Check – A deputy was requested to check on an individual living near West River Road, north of Firth.
11:03 a.m. Civil Complaint – An individual northeast of Shelley called Sheriff’s Department to report receiving a bad check for work he performed.
10:25 p.m. Disorderly Conduct – Individual reported a family member was drunk and being verbally abusive.
Nov. 14
1:03 p.m. Civil Standby – Deputy dispatched for a civil standby southeast of Firth.
5:43 p.m. Animal Complaint – An individual on 1400 North, northeast of Shelley, reported his neighbor’s dogs are being neglected and are without shelter both day and night.
8:26 p.m. Request Assistance – An individual in Goshen claimed her ex-husband is on probation, is drinking and is currently speaking aggressively toward her by phone.
Nov. 15
6:67 a.m. A deputy was dispatched to assist an agency at a home northeast of Shelley.
2:55 p.m. Deputies were called to intercept a white 4D pickup stolen from Bonneville County heading south from Idaho Falls on 10th East.
8:01 p.m. An individual reported hitting a deer. The deer was still alive, but off the road. The individual asked dispatch for permission to put the animal down. Dispatch advised a deputy was being dispatched.
10:05 p.m. Welfare Check – An individual requested a deputy to check on a person, who lives northeast of Firth.
Nov. 16
11:33 a.m. Animal Complaint – An individual reports a large brown dog is loose on the playground at Johnson Elementary School in Firth.
7:03 p.m. Animal Complaint – An individual in Firth found a black lab at her residence. She will hold onto it until the owner is found.
Nov. 17
6:41 p.m. Animal Complaint – In Firth, an individual texted a family member stating rent was paid up through the end of the month and that his dog was in the residence. The individual was concerned the dog would die in the house and requested a deputy to check on it.
Nov. 18
4:56 a.m. Welfare Check – An individual reported someone was walking down the median of I-15, just off the white line on the southbound lane. There was a car broken down further back.
11:49 a.m.      Animal Complaint – An individual east of Shelley reports the neighbor’s two white Huskies were running loose in their yard.
