Bingham County Sheriff’s Office Dec. 23-30

This log is only a partial report of all incidences reported to the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office. It contains only those incidences that occur in northern Bingham County. In this area, the Sheriff’s Department handles dozens of emergency calls each week, deploying police, fire, and medical services. Names and specific addresses have been omitted. These statements below materially represent the information in each report with only grammatical changes for flow and clarity. The following are most of the incidents reported and responded to by Bingham County Deputies between Dec. 23 through Dec. 30.

Dec. 23

12:08 p.m.       Request Assistance – A person called requesting a deputy call him for an unknown reason.

12:39 p.m.       Animal Complaint – A person on 1100 E. complaining a large brown and white dog was on the loose running up and down the road.  It was last seen running north on the road. 

4:25 p.m.         Trespass – A caller living on 600 N. called police stating his kids are coming over, and he does not want them on his property.  He stated, “they won’t leave him alone.” His daughter had left earlier, but he “feels like they will be coming back.” He would like them trespassed.  The caller said he is not home but will be there in 5 minutes. 

5:21 p.m.         Animal Complaint – An individual living on 800 E. near Shelley called to report a black lab, wearing a blue collar, running loose in the area. 

9:50 p.m.         Traffic Complaint – A caller on southbound I-15 at mile marker 111 said two dark-colored SUV’s were driving erratically and tailgating each other.  They said they were no longer following them.   The call was referred to ISP.  

Dec. 24

11:41 a.m.       A person living on 1200 North called to report a scam on Facebook.  The caller said a person had messaged her and told her she needed to purchase a gift card, and they would pay her 6 times the value of the card.

11:45 a.m.       Subject Wanted – A person living east of Woodville reported a male wearing a black coat with the hood up and a green bandana covering his face was walking down the road looking in every mailbox. He was later arrested.

Dec. 25

12:30 p.m.       Animal Complaint – A caller reported a cow loose on U.S. Hwy 91 south of Firth near the weigh station.

2:49 p.m.         Complaint – A person living west of Shelley on 554 E. reported duck hunters on the river were shooting toward his home, and pellets were landing on his shed. 

3:22 p.m.         Animal Complaint – A person living on 1500 North reported a Husky showed up on his property with porcupine quills in his face.  The dog did not have a collar.  He was in the caller’s driveway and was calm.  The caller asked for a deputy to pick him up.

4:35 p.m.         Animal Complaint – A caller, living on 800 East near Basalt, reported 4 black cows loose.  He believed they might have come from the pasture across the road. 

Dec. 26

12:26 p.m.       Accident – A caller near Jameston reported a female driving a Lincoln SUV slid off the road hitting a few trees.  She is unharmed, and the vehicle is off the road. 

Dec. 27

10:03 a.m.       Welfare Check – Idaho  Falls Police Department is requesting deputies check on a 6-year-old boy living in Green Acres east of Shelley.  They received information several days before from a third party that the child disclosed his father was high on meth.  They are requesting a deputy report back to them.

11:23 a.m.       A caller east of Woodville reported finding a stop sign in his yard, which had his daughter’s name spray-painted on it.  He did not know when it was placed in the yard but stated it must have occurred before it snowed because there were no footprints in the yard.

11:58 a.m.       Agency Assistance – Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office reports a vehicle crashed at Sunnyside and 60 E., which belonged to a person living in Woodville. The deputy reported finding a driver’s license near the vehicle belonging to a third party. They are requesting a deputy respond to help contact the owner and identify the third party individual.

5:05 p.m.         Animal Complaint – A person living on 800 E. near Shelley reported a black lab was sitting in her front yard and eating one of her chickens.

10:12 p.m.       Felony DUI – An individual was arrested at E. Oak and State St. in Shelley.

Dec. 28

5:38 a.m.         Hazzard – A caller on northbound I-15 at mile marker 98 reported that he had just hit a pile of pallets.

5:45 a.m.         Accident – A caller traveling southbound on I-15 at Exit 108 reported that a semi-truck had run off the road.

12:48 p.m.       A person living near Jameston reported their neighbors’ dog had bit his sheep a few times and would like to speak to a deputy about his options.

7:05 p.m.         Accident – A caller reported a silver Nissan or Toyota lost control and hit a stop sign and power pole at 1400 N. 1100 E.

 Dec. 29

4:45 p.m.         Accident – A two-vehicle accident involving a white Tacoma and green Suburban was reported at 1300 N. and 1200 E. The road was blocked, no injuries were reported.

11:48 p.m.       Vehicle Fire – A vehicle fire was reported at 1450 N. U.S. Hwy 91 north of Shelley.

Dec. 30

7:45 a.m.         Accident – A two-vehicle accident occurred at 800 N. 975 E. near Goshen. No injuries were reported.
