Bingham County Sheriff’s log: Dec. 16-23
This log is only a partial report of all incidences reported to the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office. It contains only those incidences that occur in northern Bingham County. In this area, the Sheriff’s Department handles dozens of emergency calls each week, deploying police, fire, and medical services. Names and specific addresses have been omitted. The statements below materially represent the information in each report with changes for readability. The following are most of the incidents reported and responded to by Bingham County Deputies between Dec. 16 through Dec 23.
Dec 16
7:56 a.m. Abandoned Vehicle – A deputy was dispatched to 900 N 900 E Shelley to investigate an abandoned vehicle.
11:32 a.m. Accident – A deputy was dispatched to a vehicle accident at River View Elementary school where airbags had been deployed.
12:58 p.m. Animal Complaint – A caller near Journey’s End reported they caught a yellow lab and a smaller black dog attacking their chickens. The dogs did not have tags. Caller requested a deputy take them to the animal shelter.
3:19 p.m. A deputy responded to a two-vehicle, non-injury accident at 1250 North 600 East. A gray Hyundai went into the ditch while a black Honda Accord remained on the roadway.
5:52 p.m. A caller reported being sideswiped by a white truck near 1200 North on US Highway 91, south of Shelley. The caller is pursuing the vehicle.
6:25 p.m. Fish & Game requested a deputy’s assistance in visiting a dwelling south of Firth.
Dec 17
4:47 p.m. A K-9 unit was dispatched to a search at mile marker 100 on Northbound I-15, west of Firth.
9:01 p.m. Suspicious Circumstance – A woman in Green Acres east of Shelley has been having issues with her neighbor, who she believes is possibly running narcotics. Several other neighbors had called in and were advised by the last deputy to contact the Sheriff’s office when several vehicles were at the residence.
11:23 p.m. A man in Green Acres called to report his ex-wife came into his residence when she was not allowed to and took some items that belong to her. He said their divorce was finalized on Dec 3. He wants her trespassed.
Dec 18
9:57 a.m. Animal Complaint – An individual in Green Acres asked to speak with a deputy about her neighbor’s dog, who is always running around without a leash, jumping on her car hood, getting into their trash, and chasing their animals.
3:56 p.m. A deputy responded to an abandoned white Buick parked at the side of the road near 1430 North US Highway 91.
2:40 p.m. A deputy assisted an individual near Shelley who claimed she had no home, license, or cell phone and needed aid.
Dec 19
9:13 a.m. An individual said his uncle is manufacturing narcotics at his residence and says he has seen it with his own eyes.
9:34 a.m. A person living northwest of Shelley called concerned about people in a field behind their house was hunting and felt they were too close to their residence.
12:35 p.m. A man in Green Acres called, saying his ex-wife keeps coming into his residence when she is not allowed to be there, as a CPO is in place. They also agreed to meet somewhere else because she has been aggressive in the past.
12:50 p.m. Battery – A person reported his stepdad put his hands on his sister. The daughter refused medical treatment.
10:35 p.m. Accident – A caller reported he had rolled Chevy pickup several times near Exit 108 on northbound I-15, west of Shelley. The man for conscious and breathing but was transported to the hospital.
Dec 20
2:30 a.m. A deputy responded to a woman who lives on Baseline Road near Shelley. She had fought with her son earlier, and he left home.
2:34 p.m. Animal Complaint – A horse was on the loose near 950 North 900 East, south of Shelley. It was white and brown and was on the road. It crossed over into a field where construction is going on.
7:16 p.m. A caller reported a white Ford Ranger driving all over the road near Golden Valley Natural, in Shelley. The driver was cited for an open container.
11:27 p.m. Welfare Check – A caller reported that a male subject was sitting on top of the freeway overpass near Woodville with his legs hanging over the top of the rail.
Dec 21
1:21 p.m. A woman reported something happened on Friday with her ex-inlaws. She said the inlaws were threatening her and knocking on her car window.
Dec 22
12:34 p.m. Animal Complaint – Someone reported a dead horse in a field along 1200 East. They advised the horse was “clearly dead and cold.†No one was home in the nearby home.
6:05 p.m. Animal Complaint – A caller near 1171 East 1200 North reported a deer was hit by someone and was off the side of the road. The deer was still alive. The person said they would wait for the deputy.
6:25 p.m. An individual living along 1100 East reported someone broke into their residence between 3 and 5:15 p.m., and they just noticed it. When arriving home, they found their front door wide open.
Dec 23
12:39 p.m.      Animal Complaint – Large brown and white door was loose up and down 1100 East. It was last seen 5 hours ago.Â
