Local gingerbread contest begins today

SHELLEY — Now is the chance to win up to $100 for showing off your gingerbread art skills.

The Shelley Supporters of the Arts is hosting their first-ever virtual gingerbread contest. The contest begins today, Monday, Dec. 14, and runs through Dec. 31. Participants have the chance to win $10, $25, $50 or $100 prizes.

“With the current pandemic looming over head, we wanted a safe way for families to come together and just create. So, we would like everyone to put on their Santa hats, crank up the holiday music and make memories,” SSA Secretary Lisa Clements said.

Anyone who lives in or has family members who live in Bingham or Bonneville counties, with a gingerbread creation, is eligible to enter the contest.

Participants can enter any kind of gingerbread creation, be it houses, trains, cookies or anything else can be entered in the contest. To enter the contest, post photos of making the creation and the final product on Facebook, tag Shelley Supporters of the Arts in the post and Like and Share the Shelley Supporters of the Arts Facebook page.

The final day to enter is Dec. 31. Winners will be notified by Jan. 12. View the contest page here.
