The Shelley Police Log Feb. 3 – 12
The Shelley Police Department handles dozens of emergency calls each week, deploying Police, fire, and medical services. Community Pioneer omits individual’s names and specific addresses. These statements below materially represent the information in each report with only grammatical changes for flow and clarity. The following are most of the incidents reported and responded to by the Shelley Police Department between Feb. 3 and Feb 12.
Feb. 3
8:59 p.m. A person living on Byron Ave. reported someone was knocking on their house’s doors and windows.
Feb. 4
2:59 p.m. Traffic Complaint – A caller was following the driver of a navy-blue Sedan (could not get the plates), who was driving erratically on North State and W. Oak.
Feb. 5
11:06 a.m. A person living on S. Milton reported their 2004 Honda Accord was hit by an unknown vehicle last night.
6:13 p.m.        Traffic Complaint – An individual reported two cars were drag racing on W. Locust.  One was a white car, and the other was a gray car. They drove at a high rate of speed east of W. Locust and through the stop sign at Byron. They then appear to head north down the alley by the laundromat.Â
Feb. 6
8:27 a.m. Malicious Injury – A person on S. Milton reported his vehicle was egged sometime during the night. The caller would like to make a report.
9:07 a.m. Parking Complaint – On W. Fir, a homeowner called to report someone parked their green Ford Taurus on her driveway last night. She stated she did not give anyone permission to park there. The owner of the vehicle is unknown.
7:59 p.m. Animal Complaint – An individual on Short Street reported his black and white Siberian Husky with a red collar was missing. It just got out of the backyard, the caller said. He also said the dog is very aggressive toward other dogs.
Feb. 7
3:53 a.m. Welfare Check – A caller driving along E. Fir and State Street said he called the “Agero” Progressive line, and then it went silent. He believes he may be in some danger. He was acting strangely on the phone. He said he was driving a yellow 2008 Toyota PC and was heading north of the highway. The individual said he was from Meridian.
Feb. 8
10:29 p.m. Request Assistance – An employee for Food Plaza reported a vehicle damaged a pump when departing their station last Friday. They had left two cards behind.
3:53 p.m. Petite Theft – An individual on Meadowlark reported a package was left at his residence at 1845 hours, and when they returned, it was gone.
6:36 p.m. Business Alarm – A burglary alarm went off at the old US Bank building from an unknown door.
Feb. 9
2:08 a.m. Unwanted Subject – A woman called from W. Fir and saying she needs to get out. Both she and another person were yelling and crying. By the end of the phone call, they were screaming at each other.
8:21 p.m. Officer found an open door at a business on N. State Street.
Feb. 10
9:39 a.m. Abandoned Vehicle – A person living near the LDS Church on S. Park called to report a gray Honda Civic with a flat tire was parked in their parking lot. The owner is unknown. The caller wanted to help pay for the flat tire and requested an officer speak to him.
11:58 a.m. Civil Complaint – An individual rented a rug doctor for the day back on January 2lst from a business on S. State. The item was to be returned the next day. Based on the contract, the individual now owes $1,000. The customer has failed to return the vacuum and is not returning their phone calls.
Feb. 11
6:33 p.m. Disturbing the Peach – An individual living on W. Maple reported her neighbors upstairs are making a lot of noise and have been for two weeks. She said they are always playing loud music. She will be waiting outside to show the officer where they live. The caller is willing to sign a complaint.
9:21 p.m. Suspicious Circumstance – A person on W. Fir called reporting two individuals have been sitting in a green Expedition, which is parked in front of their neighbor’s home, since 4:30 p.m. The vehicle was running earlier but is now off. They would like the officer to investigate and then talk to them.
11:12 p.m. Agency Assist – Bonneville County is looking for a male who has made threats to his family. Bonneville has probable cause to detain him for assault.
11:23 p.m. Disturbing the Peace – An individual living on W. Maple called back again, stating the same apartment residents are playing music loudly again. She wants them to be spoken to again. The officer does not need to contact her.
