REDS take 3rd at state dance championship

NAMPA – Shelley high’s REDS battled through a stiff competition to place in each category and earned the right to stand on the proverbial podium with the best of the best at the Idaho State Dance Championship.

After ten months of brutal, early morning practices, Shelley High School’s REDS dance team placed in every category and took 3rd place at the State’s High School Dance Championship held March 20 at the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa,

No season is safe from injuries and trials, and this past season was no exception for Shelley.  But, Lady REDS pushed past this opposition and danced hard against some tough competition, landing themselves third out of nineteen 4A schools.  They and their fans are the true definitions of Russet pride.

“I am so proud of these girls.  They worked so hard all year long and had continual obstacles to overcome, but they stepped up every time,†RED’S Coach Kelli Hobbs said.  “The competition at State was fierce.  And although we were a little disappointed with the outcome, the girls did an amazing job!†

Shelley was awarded 3rd place in Military, 3rd place in Kick, 2nd place in Dance, and 3rd place in Hip-Hop.   Columbia High School, in Nampa, took first place, followed by Preston High School, who took second. Both schools also placed in each category.
