The Shelley Police Log: Feb. 19-24

The Shelley Police Department handles dozens of emergency calls each week, deploying Police, fire, and medical services.   Community Pioneer omits individual’s names and specific addresses. These statements below materially represent the information in each report with only grammatical changes for flow and clarity.  The following are most of the incidents reported and responded to by the Shelley Police Department between February 19 through February 24.    

Feb. 19

9:55 a.m.         Agency Assistance – Bonneville County Sheriff asked Shelley Police to contact a woman on Spruce Street about a Honda Accord, which was stuck on the side of the road in Bonneville County.  They would like her to speak to a deputy handling the matter.

10:36 p.m.       Suspicious Circumstance – A caller reported a suspicious vehicle parked behind the Sugar Factory that was “blacked out.” The caller believes she witnessed three subjects leave the vehicle and walk behind the building.

Feb. 20

11:48 a.m.       A woman driving a red Mustang with Utah plates slid off the road at Hansen and Walnut by Brinkman Park. 

7:16 p.m.         A person reported they witnessed a green van hit a camper trailer parked down the street on Opal Court.  The driver of the van parked the vehicle in front of a red truck and ran into an apartment. 

Feb. 21

9:45 a.m.         An accident was reported on US Hwy. 91 and Baseline where a grey Ford Ranger and a grey Toyota Camry collided.  No injuries were reported, and the road was not blocked. 

Feb. 22

4:28 a.m.         A person at Golden Valley Natural reported there was a Hispanic male out the employee entrance in a t-shirt and shorts and appeared to be intoxicated.  He refused to leave.  He also said something about a GMC truck being stuck, and he needs to go to rehab.  Officers later the individual for stolen property.

7:02 a.m. Fraud – A person from Missouri contacted police about a woman who lived in Oregon and now resides in Shelley, who is opening a coffee shop. The caller claimed she lied to him about who she was and frauded him out of money.

4:08 p.m.         Malicious Injury was reported at Shelley High.  No details were given on the issue.  

Feb. 23           

6:15 p.m.         A person on E. Elm reported a utility trailer had crashed into his car. No other details were given. 

6:39 p.m.         Prowler  – A woman on S. Byron reported someone was knocking on her window. 

Feb. 24

7:58 a.m.         Accident – A minor accident occurred between a brown Suburban and a mid-sized light brown car in the parking lot at Shelley High School.
