The Shelley Police Log: Feb. 24 – March 9
The Shelley Police Department handles dozens of emergency calls each week, deploying Police, fire, and medical services.  Community Pioneer omits individual’s names and specific addresses. These statements below materially represent the information in each report with only grammatical changes for flow and clarity.  The following are most of the incidents reported and responded to by the Shelley Police Department between Feb. 24 through March. 9.
Feb. 24
7:58 a.m. Accident – A minor accident occurred between a brown Suburban and a mid-sized light brown car in the parking lot at Shelley High School.
2:52 p.m. Traffic Complaint – Two semis were parked one block from Sunrise Elementary School. Each semi parked on opposite sides of the street from the other.
3:22 p.m. A person on Hanson reported losing a wallet somewhere between Home Depot and Shelley.
5:30 p.m. An undescribed school incident occurred at Hobbs Middle School.
Feb. 25
2:34 p.m. Parking Complaint – An individual on W. Maple complained a vehicle was illegally parked. An officer tagged it to be towed.
Feb. 26
1:32 p.m. Threats – Harassment – An individual reported being threatened by his son’s ex-wife, who stated she was “gonna pop a cap on her and her son.” She would like to meet with an officer.
2:41 p.m. Accident – Three vehicles were involved in a pile cup on N. State and Center St. No details were given other than the airbags on each vehicle deployed.
Feb. 27
5:26 p.m. Disturbing the Peace – A person on W. Fir has an abusive autistic son who was yelling outside. He pushed and shoved her. However, she refused medical attention.
Feb. 28
1:37 p.m. Animal Complaint – four brown horses were found running loose on S. Emerson Avenue.
Mar. 1
10:41 a.m. Civil Complaint – A person on E. Oak said her neighbor had allowed someone to live in a trailer and even in their cars, which were park on their property. They believe it is unsafe.
4:00 p.m. A fight occurred at Shelley High School and was reported.
5:28 p.m. Unwanted Subject – An individual on E. Elm said she was being stalked by an individual who was currently at her door and would not leave.
Mar. 2 No incidents were reported.
Mar. 3
7:30 a.m. A gold Dodge minivan and a light blue Pontiac Bonneville collided at North Park and Oak St. No further details were given.
9:51 a.m. Animal Complaint – A person on W. Pine reported two barking dogs. It is an ongoing problem with animals that do not have food or water, said the caller. They would like the officer to contact them.
10:40 a.m. Tobacco Violation at Sunrise Elementary. Police gave no further details.
8:21 p.m. Animal Complaint – A person reported a gray Toyota Corolla had parked on S. Byron earlier in the morning. Two dogs were inside the vehicle and were now barking. The caller said they would wait for the responding officer.
Mar. 4
7:40 a.m. Accident – A bus pulled out from a stop sign on E. Pine, and Milton and a white pickup traveling north hit it. Police arrested one of the drivers. They gave no additional information.
4:17 p.m. Business Alarm – A burglary alarm from the front door of a business on N. Street went off.
7:00 p.m. Request Assistance – A person at the Food Plaza on N. State said she was lost. The caller asked an officer to help her find her way home.
7:40 p.m. Malicious Injury – The Shelley Veterinary Hospital on N. State reported someone had broken a window on the north side front door.
Mar. 6
1:05 p.m. Civil Complaint – An individual in front of the Family Dollar Store reported he had traveled from Montana to pick up a dog from a local woman, whom he had paid $300 through Venmo. He had been waiting for three hours for her to show up in a blue Subaru Outback.
2:41 p.m. Fraud – A person reported she had several thousand dollars of fraudulent charges on her Mountain America Credit Card. She had canceled the card and wanted to talk to an officer about it.
11:00 p.m. A caller on Berrett reported her car alarm went off. As she went outside to see what was wrong, she saw two teen males speed away in a red Mustang.
Mar. 7
3:33 a.m. Prowler – A person on Brentway reported someone was pounding on their front door and yelling, Hey, hey. Footprints in the snow showed theyran north.
5:02 p.m. Information – A woman on Hummingbird reported two juveniles had assaulted her juvenile daughter and nephew, which occurred 30 minutes before the call.
10:09 p.m. Employees at Exxon reported an abandoned vehicle in their parking lot.
Mar. 8
8:31 a.m. Business Alarm – A burglary alarm at a business on N. State went off. The front door connection was the issue.
5:51 p.m. Animal Complaint – An individual on Byron reported their neighbor’s dogs have been barking non-stop for several days. They would like an officer to speak to the owner. The caller wished not to be identified and did not want to sign a citation.
8:40 p.m. Disturbing the Peace – An individual on W. Locust reported the neighbors were playing loud music and would like an officer to talk to them. In the past, the caller requested a citation and signed it. They would like to pursue charges. They need to speak with an officer.
Mar. 9
9:12 a.m. Parking Complaint – An individual on Holley St. reported their neighbor had been parking, so they partially block their driveway. The caller asked to speak to an officer.
5:04 p.m. A person on W. Maple reported they were harassed on Facebook. There were no other details reported.
7:39 p.m. Suspicious Circumstance – A undefined institution occurred at Shelley City Park. No details were given.
8:32 p.m. Business Alarm – A burglary alarm on S. State Street went off. The alarm came from the back door. Officers contacted the district manager, who requested a parameter check.
