The Shelley Police Log: March 10 – 17

Mar. 10
6:37 a.m. Extra Patrol – An extra patrol was conducted at Basic American foods. An employee’s ex-boyfriend had made threats against himself.
8:25 a.m. Animal Complaint – A person on Elm requested an officer check on a dog in a minivan that had been parked for an hour.
12:48 p.m. Animal Complaint – A caller on S Park reported that their neighbor’s dog was in their back yard and requested an officer come pick it up.
2:30 p.m. A suspicious circumstance was reported at Shelley High School.
4:10 p.m. Animal Complaint – A caller reported dogs from a home on Center St. attacked her and her dogs. She was uninjured.
10:00 p.m. Suspicious Circumstance – A caller on Fir requested an officer check on multiple juveniles running around the shop area of Shelley High School.

11:19 a.m. Hazard – A cement truck spilled cement at E Center and N State St.

8:59 a.m. Animal Complaint – A caller on Byron St. reported their neighbors’ dogs had been barking until 11 p.m. last night. The caller had reported them last week, but the officer had been unable to contact the owner. The caller stated the owner’s vehicle was at the residence now and requested an officer speak with them.
5:50 p.m. Unwanted Subject – A person on Center St. requested police at the location as their ex-boyfriend was refusing to leave.
10:00 p.m. Missing Person – A person on Center St. reported their son had been missing for 45 mins to an hour.
Mar. 13
10:36 p.m. Request Assistance – A person on Maple St. was concerned about her son’s girlfriend, who had been staying with them. Her son’s girlfriend had been previously kicked out by her mother and could not return home. The caller stated she could not let her stay any longer, but was worried she had nowhere else to go.
11:56 p.m. Disturbing the peace – A caller on W Fir St. reported that someone had just slammed a Book of Mormon against their door and ran. The caller did not see what they looked like or where they went. The caller wanted to file a report.

10:31 a.m. Civil Complaint – A caller on Maple asked to speak with an officer about his son’s ex-girlfriends’ parents. The caller stated the girl’s parents had been instructed by an officer last night to take her home, but they dropped her back off at the caller’s residence.
1:53 p.m. Animal Complaint – A caller on Baseline reported a husky was chasing chickens in the caller’s backyard.
10:33 p.m. Disturbing the peace – A person on Maple reported their neighbors were being “extremely loud” and wanted them quieted down.
Mar. 15
2:08 a.m. Unwanted Subject – A caller on Maple St. reported a man would not leave the residence and had been drinking.
11:01 a.m. Accident – A person reported that a Ford pickup had crossed both lanes of I-15 and crashed into a fence on the northbound side.
6:42 p.m. Alarm – Officers responded to a glass break alarm on North State St.
6:55 p.m. Disturbing the peace – A caller on Holley St. reported that neighbors had been “blaring music for 3 hours.” The caller stated that it was a “repeated issue.”
Mar. 16
10:50 p.m. Animal Complaint – A person reported a “border collie type dog with a yellowish bandana” walking south on State St. near Center St.
1:08 p.m. Disturbing the Peace – A person on Oak St. complained that there were motorcycles without mufflers, and they were too loud.
5:04 p.m. Property Damage – A person on Hummingbird Ln reported children were hitting people’s mailboxes. The caller stated their mailbox was severely damaged.
7:03 p.m. Traffic Complaint – A caller at Hobbs Middle School reported kids in a minivan were “driving erratically and jumping the vehicle.”
Mar. 17
8:59 a.m. A fight in progress was reported at Shelley High School.
10:29 a.m. Animal Complaint – A person reported a black dog with a tan bandana was running near the train tracks along Hwy 91 near Baseline road. The caller stated they had almost hit it.
1:07 p.m. Agency Assist – Officers were asked to make contact with an individual on Maple regarding fraud occurring in Pennsylvania.
1:33 p.m. Harassment was reported at Shelley High School.
