Bingham County Sheriff’s Office Log May 5-11

This log is only a partial report of all incidences reported to the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office. It contains only those incidences that occur in northern Bingham County. The Sheriff’s Department handles dozens of emergency calls each week, deploying police, fire, and medical services in this area. Names and specific addresses have been omitted. These statements below materially represent the information in each report with only grammatical changes for flow and clarity. The following is a list of most of the incidents reported and responded to by Bingham County Deputies between May 5 to May 11.    

May 5

1:20 a.m.         Traffic Complaint – A caller reported a FedEx semi with three trailers was all over the road and almost hit another semi on the northbound I-15 at mile marker 105 North. 

10:58 a.m.       Animal Complaint – A caller at the Basalt Townsite reported a white Healer type dog trying to get into her chickens.  The caller knew the dog’s owner.  The dog has tried before to get in their chicken. 

1:59 p.m.         Resident Burglary – A caller at Journey’s End, northwest of Shelley, reported cash and personal documents had been missing from their home for several weeks.

9:43 p.m.         Animal Complaint – An individual east of Shelley reported that their neighbor’s brown cow was out of the pasture.

May 6

8:05 a.m.         A juvenile boy in Firth was arrested for synthetic narcotics possession.

12:47 p.m.       The new owner of the Stop and Shop in Firth claims that they could not get into the building until today.  The newer owner stated that Pepsi and Coca-cola coolers were missing.  However, no one from Pepsi or Coke Distributors had removed the cooler.  They would like to speak with an officer for a report. 

4:12 p.m.         Battery – A man in Firth had a physical confrontation with his son and wants him removed.

6:32 p.m.         Traffic Complaint – A caller in Firth reported a man on a green ATV continually drives through his property at a high rate of speed.  He is currently parked at the Firth mill.

10:59 p.m.       Motor Assist – A woman in a white SUV broke down on the northbound lane of I-15, west of Firth.

May 7

4:10 a.m.         Animal Complaint – A caller from Green Acres, east of Shelley, reported an ongoing issue with two possible Pitbulls that have been running loose in the area. One of the dogs has a collar. The owner lives across the street. The caller wants to sign a citation.

11:31 a.m.       Animal Complaint – Found – A caller from Firth reported a white, shaggy dog caught in a trap.

1:19 p.m.         Petit Theft – An individual from Firth reported that her sister took her phone approximately an hour ago.

4:12 p.m.         Information – A caller in Firth reported neighbor kids were shooting airsoft guns in the city limits.

6:03 p.m.         Civil Complaint – A caller from Firth is having an issue with another woman.

10:48 p.m.       Request Assistance – An individual southwest of Firth reported that a red SUV had just pulled out of the neighbor’s driveway. The vehicle kept pulling into random driveways and pulling back out.

May 8             No incidents were reported

May 9

8:00 p.m.         Traffic Complaint – A caller in Jameston, east of Shelley, reported a red pickup driving through the neighborhood, speeding and blowing through stop signs.

May 10

4:48 a.m.         Inattentive Driving – A driver of a white Ford F-150 crashed his vehicle on 800 North, east of Basalt. The passenger hit his head but was not bleeding. The driver was arrested.

10:37 a.m.       Malicious Injury to Property – A caller southeast of Shelley reported someone drove out to a pivot in a field and shot a pivot box, causing damage. 

12:10 p.m.       An individual west of Journey’s End reported a guy showed up at the residence while he was at work.  They are requesting to speak with a deputy about him being trespassed from the property. 

May 11

4:10 a.m.         A caller in the north of Shelley reported several pallets in the northbound lane of New Sweden Road just after the bridge. 

2:25 p.m.         An individual in the Woodville Townsite reported his wife was knocked off her bike by a St, Bernard dog that lives nearby.  The incident happened one week ago. 

3:55 p.m.         Traffic Complaint – A caller on southbound I-15 west of Shelley reported a black Subaru speeding and weaving in and out of traffic.
