Shelley Police Log: May 19 to June 2
The Shelley Police Department handles dozens of emergency calls each week, deploying Police, fire, and medical services.  Community Pioneer omits individual’s names and specific addresses. These statements below materially represent the information in each report with only grammatical changes for flow and clarity.  The following are most of the incidents reported and responded to by the Shelley Police Department between May 19 through June 2.   Â
May 19
12:07 p.m. Welfare Check – A caller stated her mother lives on W. Maple, whom she talks to each day. She is elderly, lives alone, and is disabled. She would like to be contacted.
1:39 p.m. Malicious Injury to Property – An individual on W. Fir reported his tractor’s tires had been slashed during the night.
4:41 p.m. Traffic Complaint – A caller reported a driver of a white Dodge Intrepid was speeding southbound on US Highway 91 north of Shelley.
6:19 p.m. Animal Complaint – A individual on E. Pine reported a barking dog on the street. They also complained about a barking dog on E. Center, but it wasn’t barking at present.
May 20
12:50 a.m. Business Alarm – A business on N. State had an alarm go off. There appeared to be shop motion.
11:43 a.m. A wanted subject was arrested at Shelley High School.
9:11 p.m. Animal Complaint – lost – A caller on W. Oak reported missing her Golden Doodle Dog, collared and chipped.
9:43 p.m. Animal Complaint – A person on W. Oak reported an issue with the neighbor’s dog was barking. They talked to their neighbor, but the problem has continued. They want an officer to speak with them.
May 21
10:56 a.m. An individual on W. Pine reported a toddler was walking in the street, approximately 2, in a short-sleeve shirt and diaper with curly brown hair. They could no longer see the child.
9:16 p.m. Business Alarm – A business on N. State had another alarm go off. The alarm company called the responsible person.
9:22 p.m. Civil Standby – An individual on S. Emerson requested a civil standby while picking her children up from her ex-husband. She claimed he kept them from her for the last 10 weeks. He is now telling her he is signing his rights over to his parents, who live in Salmon.
10:24 p.m. Fireman Threat – A person reported a male was walking around Shelley, pointing an AR gun at people. The individual is very distraught. The incident was unfounded.
10:49 p.m. An open residential door was found on Hummingbird Lane.
May 22
6:38 a.m. Request Assistance – A woman at Good to Go stated she was scared.
12:26 p.m. Animal Complaint – A person on W. Pine reported a black lab and Golden Retriever were on the loose and just tipped over their garbage can.
3:50 p.m. Animal Complaint – An individual on Meadowlark reported an aggressive dog, on the loose, had the neighbor lady backed into a corner in her front yard.
11:39 p.m. Suspicious Circumstance – A person at Shelley High School reported that someone pulled a large SUV out onto the grass at the football field. They don’t believe they are supposed to be there.
May 23
11:19 p.m. Police found an open door at Shelley High School.
May 24
8:55 a.m. Animal Complaint – An individual on Baseline Road reported a white husky had gotten into their chickens. The dog’s owner is unknown.
6.21 p.m. Civil Stand-by – An individual requested an officer be present while discussing a matter with his son. The caller said his son tends to get violent.
6:42 p.m. Indecent Exposure – An individual on E. Oak reports a person dropped his pants in front of children. He is now sitting on the benches on the corner of Park and Oak.
8:45 p.m. Animal Complaint – A person on Aspen Ave. reported their kids were out walking their dog, and another dog on the loose attacked their dog.
11:55 p.m. Residential Alarm – A residential home’s alarm on Aspen Ave. went off. Contact was made with the homeowner.
May 25
12:53 a.m. Battery – A caller on W. Fir reported that a man and a woman jumped his wife. He stated her face is “beaten pretty severely.”
6:54 p.m. A text to 911 indicated that an argument between two people on S. Park ended over an unknown issue. No further details were given.
9:41 p.m. Business Alarm – A business on N. State had its alarm go off.
May 26
12:24 a.m. Mental Health Issue – An individual on W. Maple reported not feeling right. They had taken multiple medications, but they didn’t work.
9:17 a.m. Harassment – Threats – A person at a downtown business reported receiving threats from a guy who drove by slowly about 9 a.m. in a red Pontiac with blacked-out rims.
7:41 p.m. An individual on Holly St. reported the neighbors are kicking a ball at her vinyl fence. She asked them to stop. However, they keep doing it. She would like to be contacted by an officer.
8:35 p.m. Accident – An individual on E. Oak reported he lost his trailer and has run into the neighbor’s 5th wheel.
May 27
1:32 a.m. Police found an unlocked door at Shelley High School.
10:54 a.m. An individual in a black Chevy Trust reported a red pickup truck with fictitious plates traveling southbound on US Highway 91. The individual was arrested.
2:56 p.m. Animal Complaint – Lost – A person on E. Oak, babysitting, reported the family dog, a Golden Doodle, ran away. The dog was wearing a baby blue collar.
May 28
12:47 p.m. An individual on W. Fir was having issues with her neighbor’s kids. No further details were given.
7:02 p.m. Animal Complaint – A person on Meadowlark reported that an aggressive dog keeps getting out of the neighbor’s yard. The dog apparently had the other neighbors cornered in their yard.
May 29
10:07 p.m. Business Alarm – A business on N. State had an alarm go off.
May 30
12:59 a.m. Animal complaint – A caller on Edwards reported a dog was barking in the back yard to the south since about 11:30 p.m. They believe the owners are not at home.
6:36 a.m. Property Damage – A person on Holley St. reported her neighbor’s sprinklers are on and spraying over the fence and flooding her patio. The caller had not contacted the neighbor regarding the issue.
7:28 a.m. Accident – Police reported a two-vehicle accident at the corner of Locust and Byron. No injuries were reported.
6:16 p.m. Child Custody Interference – An individual on Emerson reported they had attempted to pick up their spouse’s child from another individual’s residence. The caller reported that the person had left the residence and would not answer their phone and had blocked both the caller and her spouse’s phone numbers.
May 31
7:01 a.m. Found Property – A caller reported finding a wallet at Food Plaza.
2:00 p.m. Animal Complaint – Lost – An individual E. Fir reported a missing black lab without a collar.
4:50 p.m. Civil Complaint – An individual on Barrett requested to speak with an officer regarding child custody.
6:36 p.m. Child Custody Interference – A caller at Food Plaza reported her ex-husband refused to give the child to her per the custody paperwork. She wants to speak to an officer.
8:54 p.m. Fire Call – Multiple reports received of a fire in a garbage can on Opal Court.
June 1
2:19 a.m Unlawful Entry – A caller on Hummingbird Ln reported a dark-colored car was parked in her driveway, and someone was going through her garage.
3:23 p.m. Welfare Check – An individual on Center Street reported a man was driving intoxicated in a black SUV.
10:49 p.m. Animal Complaint – A caller on Sunset Ct reported a dog continually barking. They requested an officer speak with the owner.
June 2
12:32 a.m. Business Alarm – Officers responded to a burglar alarm on State Street.
