Bingham County Sheriff’s Log: July 7-21
This log is only a partial report of all incidences reported to the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office. It contains only those incidences that occur in northern Bingham County. The Sheriff’s Office handles dozens of emergency calls each week, deploying police, fire, and medical services in this area. Community Pioneer omits individual’s names and specific addresses. Otherwise, the incident log is reported as written. The following is a list of most of the incidents reported and responded to by Bingham County Deputies between July 7-21.
July 7
1:33 a.m. Welfare Check — Shelley Cemetary — RP Stated he was at the Shelley Cemetary and noticed a female that seemed out of her mind – Stated she took off towards far side of the cemetery – RP would like her checked on – RP would like to be contacted.
8:49 a.m. Traffic Complaint — I15, Shelley — Gld Ford Tk driving slow and is drinking a beer while driving.
9:34 a.m. Animal Complaint — 800 E, Shelley — A large white dog with gold spots with no collar went missing. Male. Not chipped.
3:36 p.m. Accident — 1240 N, Shelley — 1 vehicle accident. Didn’t roll. Injuries. Male is breathing and is cons.
July 8
10:41 a.m. Request Assistance — Highway 91, Shelley — RP manages the property and the owner is requesting the vehicle be removed. Unknown who the vehicle belongs to the property was purchased in November and the vehicle has apparently been on the property for several years. Will call back when he is on sight will be after 5:30 p.m.
10:51 p.m. Fireworks Complaint — 1340 E, Shelley — Stated there is fireworks in the area stated they are being loud.
July 9
4:14 a.m. Prowler — 1100 N, Shelley — Someone is at the front door trying to get in – RP believes the person is outside still, but can no longer hear anything.
8:34 a.m. Animal Complaint — 500 N, Firth — Sick cat belonging to the neighbor that has passed away on her back porch. Owner is (name and address removed). RP has been unable to make contact with the owners via LL. Requesting to speak with an officer.
8:40 a.m. Tobacco Violation — 500 N, Firth — RP requesting to speak with an officer regarding her juvenile daughter that was located with two vapes.
2:12 p.m. Agency Assist — 590 E, Shelley — Fraudulent activity on her credit report.
7:41 p.m. Fireworks Complaint — 700 E, Shelley — Juvenile neighbors lighting fireworks for the last several days, they reside in the brick house at the end of the street. Would like them to be told to stop.
8:14 p.m. Request Assistance — Roosevelt St, Firth — Older neighbor, put up a video surveillance in his tree that appears to be pointed directly into his back yard. RP would like to speak with an officer.
9:07 p.m. Animal Complaint — 1140 N, Shelley — There are two brown and red pitbulls running loose and killed the neighbor’s cat. RP has livestock and is worried for their safety.
July 10
1:34 a.m. Accident — I15, Firth — RP just hit a deer and is a dark grey Subaru. Unknown where the deer is. No injuries. The car is smoking.
9:13 a.m. Civil Complaint — 800 N, Basalt — RP stated that he is having a dispute over water with the neighbor. RP advised that he is bi-polar and if the issue isn’t resolved it may become physical.
11:55 a.m. Civil Complaint — 1550 N, Shelley — RP states that his ex-wife is refusing to allow the RP to see their child. RP states that he was supposed to have the child last Sunday. Ex-wife is (name removed).
11:56 a.m. Suspicious Circumstance — 600 N, Firth — Black Suburban with out of states plates two African American males that are going door to door trying to sale some sort of cleaning supplies. They left the residence heading eastbound on 600 N 5 ago.
2:18 p.m. Property Damage — 1200 N, Shelley — RP states that his neighbors have driven over the RP’s irrigation lines and damaged them. Unknown suspect names.
2:59 p.m. Animal Complaint — 1140 N, Shelley — RP states that last night his neighbor’s dog got out and chased their cats. Unknown suspect names. RP would like to speak with an officer.
6:37 p.m. Animal Complaint — 1140 N, Shelley — RP’s neighbors dog killed the RP’s cat sometime last night. There is another neighbor that can witness the situation.
8:14 p.m. Property Damage — 1200 N, Shelley — RP’s neighbor ran into their house with a vehicle and damaged it, occurred 10 ago. The neighbors are still there.
July 11
12:20 a.m. Disorderly Conduct — 600 E, Shelley — RP states there is some sort of commotion out on the street near his house. Can hear what appears to be teenager screaming at each other and possibly intoxicated.
9:49 p.m. Accident — Highway 91, Shelley — RP stated she lives behind Broulims – Thought she heard an accident poss in that area – RP can’t see anything right now.
10:05 p.m. Fireworks Complaint — 1200 E, Shelley — RP says in the area someone is shooting off illegal fireworks.
10:37 p.m. Traffic Complaint — Highway 91, Firth — Sil PC swerving all over the road – Passed RP and then slowed down – NB
11:11 p.m. Agency Assist — Franklin Ave, Firth — Benneville requesting our assistance — they located a red 2013 Chevy Cruise (license plate number removed) rolled in a ditch that belongs to an (name removed). Bonneville would like his welfare checked on believed him to be intoxicated. Bonneville would like deputy to contact them.
July 12
3:43 a.m. Hazard — I15, Firth — Large box in passing lane.
6:59 a.m. Accident — 600 E, Shelley — 2021 Kia Forte was hit by another vehicle some time last night. Has white paint transfer on the rear driver side panel. (license plate number removed)
10:43 am. Suspicious Circumstance — 1100 N, Shelley — RP reporting an older Chrysler type vehicle either black or PLE and a red Toy 4D PC were down behind the residence and the RP believes they are using narcotics. Chrysler is still there See EXT.
11 a.m. Welfare Check — Highway 91, Firth — A driver was on highway 91 and advised there are some kids jumping off RR bridge into a canal.
8:47 p.m. Animal Complaint — 1140 N, Shelley — RP stating there are dogs that continue to come onto their property and attacking their cats. RPs son (name removed) just shot both of them. Dogs belong to (name removed).
July 13
6:20 a.m. Animal Complaint — Highway 91, Firth — Two Goats.
11:06 a.m. Animal Complaint — 800 E, Shelley — White dog loose ITA. No collar. Hanging around the chicken coop.
7:58 p.m. Accident — Highway 91, Shelley — Possible injuries, road blockage on the northbound lane. One silver PC and black PC.
July 14
1:54 p.m. Hazard — 800 N, Basalt — Reporting a large pile of dirt and rocks covering both lanes of travel.
2:38 p.m. Motorist Assist — Wolverine Area — A vehicle was broken down and was towed to the W and wouldn’t let the RP tow them any further. There are 2 juvenile females with a man and woman. RP is concerned as it’s super hot.
8:27 p.m. Request Assistance — 1400 N, Shelley — RP stating Juveline came to her residence and started banging on the door. LS driving silver Chevy Cruz. Left heading eastbound on 1400 N.
July 15
8:51 a.m. Animal Complaint — 1550 N, Shelley — Small stray dog in the area, requesting aco respond. Unknown owner RP will attempt to detain the dog.
3:35 p.m. Animal Complaint — 1250 N, Shelley — Missing a female orn/whi tabby minx has only half a tail. Missing since late last night at 2 a.m.
3:32 p.m. Suspicious Circumstance — 1230 N, Shelley — Reporting a vehicle that has been in the area that she believes may be scoping out the area. Vehicle is a black Dodge Dakota. Trk is 2dr and believes there are at least 2 occupants RP does not wish to be contacted.
9:10 p.m. Wanted Subject — North Bingham County Park, Shelley — Male down by the historical park gold Buick sedan 1A plates – Stated he has creeping around the park – is making RP nervous – Hangs park the park, stated he has been to the RPs house would just like he talked to – RP would like contact.
July 16
8:06 a.m. Animal Complaint — Firth High School — Found a stray cow dog by the football fields, will take it home.
10 a.m. Civil Complaint — 575 E, Firth — Make contact with RP reference a problem with his neighbor. (Name and address removed).
1:57 p.m. Traffic Complaint — Highway 91, Firth — Errartic driver white newer Escalade 4B plates. Were initially tailgating the RP, the passed unsafely twice and is continuing to tailgate. She is travelling at approx 70 mph.
5:27 p.m. Request Assistance — 1330 E, Shelley — RP states that (name removed) is at the property there, believes he is on probation, his name is (name removed). States he is not supposed to be there, property belongs to (name removed) RP believes he is supposed to be trespassed.
6:27 p.m. Animal Complaint — Highway 91, Firth — 3 black horses out in the field next to this address. One was out in the street earlier. Ho halters.
6:50 p.m. Agency Assist — I15, Firth — Boss hit chevy suburban newer model Plate – Stolen license plate (license plate number removed)
8:11 p.m. Animal Complaint — 1180 E, Shelley — There is a golden retriever/black rotweiller/two puppies running loose in the area.
9:30 p.m. Traffic Complaint — 675 E, Basalt — Stated that little blue SUV kids doing high rates of speed headed west toward 91.
July 17
1:21 p.m. Inattentive Driving — Hanson Ave, Shelley — Vehicle rollover, minor injuries. Vehicle rolled into front yard at location.
8:18 p.m. Suspicious Circumstance — 700 E, Shelley — Stated his son and soon to be ex are getting a divorce – stated his ex wife has been ignorate with her – She said they have had several strange cars that have been coming up their driveway lately, has been three times today in a black charger no plts on the car – stated that someone was taking their pictures and when they saw they saw them they took off.
9:13 p.m. Vehicle Fire — I15, Shelley — Truck with a 5th wheel and some hay on fire.
9:41 p.m. Animal Complaint — 550 E, Firth — RP says there is a white and black cross great dane wearing a red collar running loose in the area.
July 18
10:16 a.m. Animal Complaint — 700 N, Firth — Her 2 full standard poodles missing.
10:15 a.m. Parking Complaint — 1200 N, Shelley — Vehicle parked in front of brother’s trailer for two days, Bro 4 Dr, (license plate number removed).
12:39 p.m. Animal Complaint — 1130 E, Shelley — Blu Heeler with a teal ad pink pattenerned collar.
1:04 p.m. Animal Complaint — 1200 N, Shelley — Neighbor’s dog keeps killing RP’s chickens. This the 3rd day in a row this has occurred. Dog hasn’t been on the property since this morning.
2:25 p.m. Accident — LDS Church, Basalt — RP backed into a honda pilot (license plate number removed). No injuries. No blockage.
July 19
10:09 a.m. Animal Complaint — 1000 N, Firth — RP states that there is approx 20-25 cows out on the roadway. Will be reds, blacks, white, several mixed colors. Unknown owner.
11:20 p.m. Wanted Subject — 900 E, Shelley — Wanted subject (name removed) is at the above residence. In the fifth wheel next to the shop. There is black Kia with Utah license plate near it.
July 20
5:33 a.m. Motorist Assist — I15, Shelley — Reporting a truck that is parked on the side of the road with his hood up – Steam is coming out of the engine, the truck does not have his hazards on.
8:55 a.m. Request Assistance — 1400 N, Shelley — RP living with his father, few weeks ago subject broke into his father shop and stole storage wheat.
8:47 a.m. Request Assistance — W River Rd, Firth — Vuglar sign in the yard of a residence on W River Road. RP would like to speak with an officer about what can be done.
1:08 p.m. Animal Complaint — Highway 91, Shelley — Purebred black and white Huskey, female, not fixed, no collar.
1:08 p.m. Threats-Harassment — 1140 N, Shelley — Assault son was just threatened by a neighbor (name removed). They were at the RP’s house and making noises as if they were shooting a weapon at them RP’s home stated “You’re about to have a problem.” RP believes this stems from the neighbors dog being loose and killing the RP’s cat on the Rp’s property and the RP shot the dog.
July 21
1:10 p.m. Civil Complaint 00 1550 N, Shelley — Handicapped son 19 year old he is safe however her ex husband got inside the house after they went to bed and took the son. RP has full custody and guardianship. Took the son out thru the bedroom window. She got son back around 8 a.m. as the ex dumped the 19 year old at a daycare. The ex has not been given visitation after the son turned 18 years old.
3:43 p.m. Request Assistance — Highway 91, Firth — RP states that her ex husband (name removed) is on scene attempting to take the children.
4:57 p.m. Animal Complaint — 1100 E, Shelley — RP was riding his bike and was chased by 3 larger dogs. He would like the owners spoken to. One is a dark colored large dog and the other two were mutts.
5:45 p.m. Welfare Check — Firth River Bottoms — Guy in snake river yelling for help – Unkown what the issue is.
10:30 p.m. Slide Off — 1500 N, Shelley — Vehicle stuck in the ditch – Blue honda SUV stated she can’t get out of the ditch – Female is possibly intoxicated.
