Bingham County Sheriff’s log: Aug 6-17

This log is only a partial report of all incidences reported to the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office. It contains only those incidences that occur in northern Bingham County. The Sheriff’s Office handles dozens of emergency calls each week, deploying police, fire, and medical services in this area. Community Pioneer omits individual’s names and specific addresses. Otherwise, the incident log is reported as written. The following is a list of most of the incidents reported and responded to by Bingham County Deputies between Aug 6-17.

Aug 6

1:35 a.m. Emergency Message — 800 E, Shelley — (name removed) was killed in Idaho Falls in a motorcycle accident need to notify (name removed) is an uncle (address removed). (name removed) his younger brother will be the second notification.

7:12 a.m. Public Intoxication — 1400 N, Shelley — RP stated that (name removed) left the residence on foot highly intoxicated after causing problems with family after of her brother’s death.

12:25 p.m. Request Assistance — 1330 E, Shelley — RP states that he trapped a cat that has been killing his chickens. Request for it to be picked up.

2:13 p.m. Trespass — 1400 N, Shelley — RP states that he owns the farm in the area of the above location. RP states that there is a white chevy tahoe that is driving around on the property. RP attempted to stop and flag them down but they sped away from him.

2:16 p.m. Welfare Check — 1400 N, Shelley — RP states that (name removed) is attempting to stop passing vehicles on a riding lawn mower. Unknown if he is intoxicated. RP would like him checked on.

2:47 p.m. Suspicious Circumstance — Post Office, Firth — RP is a carrier for the above location. Over the last two days there has been an older male in a white truck that was taking photos and videos of the RP as she was entering the building. RP states that he leaves and returns to the building throughout the day.

8:29 p.m. Animal Complaint — W Center St, Firth — Pitbull mix dog ran into their yard and attacked her dog and was going to attack RP – Owner of dog lives across the street – stated her dog is not injured at all – RP is wanting the owners cited since this has happened several times.

Aug 7

12:08 a.m. Traffic Complaint — Highway 91, Shelley — Black Honda Accord (license plate number removed) That is speeding. Possibly on the phone. R is not willing to sign.

12:10 a.m. Welfare Check — 1140 N, Shelley — RP stating she is unable to get a hold of (name removed). Last known location was on 1046 E 1300 N at 10:12 p.m. driving a blue 2015 Ford Fusion.

4:46 a.m. DUI — 1100 E, Shelley — Male fell asleep and rolled his truck. Complaining of back and chest pain.

9:48 a.m. Animal Complaint — Highway 91 — RP states that there is a small black cow out near kits foundry just south of mile marker 116.

11:52 a.m. Accident — Firth — A marron Ford Mustang was strck by another vehicle that took off from the parade. Suspect vehicle is dark gray For truck. They did swap information.

12:59 p.m. Grand Theft — Highway 91, Shelley — Flat bed traler was taken from the storage unity with lots of items on the traler. RP wants to make a report.

2:49 p.m. Civil Stand-By — 800 E, Shelley — RP is moving items from the residence and the renters cause a disturbance every time. RP will be in a tractor and there will be 3 other vehicles coming to tow a semi and other vehicles. ETA 10.

2:50 p.m. Traspass — Interstate 15, Firth — Male and female that have been trespassed from the rest area. RP is a cleaner and advised they cause a disturbance. They have signs stating they are homeless. Green Blue van with a white state on it from out of state.

4:31 p.m. Animal Complaint — RP states there are two goats tied to a pole. RP would likethe animals checked on.

11:12 p.m. Suspicious Circumstance — 615 E, Shelley — RP reporting that there are two unknown vehicles parked in front of his residence. One vehicle is blocking the driveway and the other is in his driveway. The vehicles area blue/grey Jepp Liberty (license plate number removed) And the other is a silver/white Toyota Tacoma (license plate number removed). RP does not know who they belong to.

Aug 8

12:25 a.m. Welfare Check — 1200 E, Shelley RP — reporting that they were flagged down by a white male subject who was walking west bound on 300 N Near Jameston Rd. Stating that he had gotten in a fight with his wife and was now trying to walk home to Idaho Falls after attending the rodeo. RP did not get his name but male was wearing a t-shirt possibly red. Last seen about 5 mins ago.

4:35 a.m. Suspicious Circumstance — 550 N, Firth — RP reporting that there is a male in a white truck with possible (license plate number) parked off the side of the road. RP stopped and talked to the male who advised he was being followed by drones and was hiding from them. RP is wanting him checked.

9:00 a.m. Accident — 2200 N, Shelley — RP states that he is at the west Shelley lava bed where the road follows the powerline. RP states that there is a red pick up (license plate number remove). Directions: East bound from 108 exit. Right to head south. First right down the road. Gravel road, left after the bridge. No one in the vehicle. RP in a grey Toyota Tac.

5:17 p.m. Suspicious Circumstance — Interstate 15, Shelley — RP states there are several Hispanic males taking items from one pickup and distributing it to the others. A couple of vans and several pickup on scene.

Aug. 9

3:26 p.m. Fraud-Financial Card — 900 E, Shelley — Opened a credit card under the RP’s name.

4:59 p.m. Animl Complaint — 1100 E, Shelley — Pig loose ITA. Unknown owner.

7:59 p.m. Trespass — Johnson Elementary, Firth — RP stated that there were two young men were on the roof and the superintendent currently has then detained.

Aug 10

9:40 a.m. Civil Stand-By — 150 N, Shelley — RP requesting to speak with an officer regarding a lane that has been blocked off. RP is concerned there is not access to a home for emergency vehicles.

11:11 a.m. Agency Assist — Highway 91, Shelley — Possible location of juvenile runaway.

1:17 p.m. Suspicious Circumstance — 675 E, Basalt — Black male walking around the neighborhood wearing gray baseball cap and white t-shirt. RP stated that he knocked on her door, said hello and then tried to get inside her residence. He left her residence approx 5 ago, unknown direction. RP does not want to be contacted.

1:57 p.m. Request Asisstance — 1000 E, Shelley — Eviction notice was to be served at (name and address removed) and she is to be out be midnight. She is currently burning household garbage at the residence.

5:41 p.m. Animal Complaint — Shelley — Had a stray pig in her yard. No longer on her property, lef side walking down the ditch bank.

6:12 p.m. Civil Complaint — 675 E, Basalt — RP stating (name removed) is there trying to take her vehicle. The vehicle does belong to both the RP and the suspect. There are children on scene.

6:51 p.m. Animal Complaint — N Hanson Ave, Shelley — Missing her brindle pit/husky mix. Flea collar. Not chipped.

10:23 p.m. Information — 800 E, Shelley — RP advised there is meth being made at location. RP said she drove by and could smell it. Advised someone named (names removed) are renting from the trailer house at location. No Contact needed.

10:31 p.m. Welfare Check — 1400 N, Shelley — Male possibly 60’s, white hair, 160 lbs, suit jacked on a bycicle riding back and forth and swerving all the road and appeared under the influence of something. Just north of that intersection.

Aug 11

10:37 a.m. Animal Complaint — 1500 N, Shelley — RP has a pig in his yard, the pig may have been injured by the RP’s dogs. 50-60 lbs pig.

5:12 p.m. Traffic Complaint — Highway 91, Shelley — North Bound following silver van that has been unable to maintain its lane. RP is directly behind driving a white hyon son.

5:30 p.m. Welfare Check — 1400 N, Shelley — Requesting someone go dad (name removed) stated her brother (name removed) has been staying with him and they have not been able to reach their father for the last several hours.

Aug 12

10:41 a.m. Request Assistance — Firth River Bottoms — Requested an officer meet at the sewer plant ref campers that have been there too long.

1:15 p.m. Welfare Check — 1200 N, Shelley — RP is needing a welfare check on a co-wrker (name removed) who was suppose to be to work at 6:40 a.m this morning and no one can get a hold of her. RP is worried for her welfare as she had at attend a funeral yesterday and her not being at work is very unlike her. RP said the last time they saw or talked to her was Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.

1:47 p.m. Information — 800 E, Shelley — RP is calling from the Idaho Falls Just 4 Kids doctors office reporting that a 9-year-old female was bitten by her own dog. RP is requesting a report be filled.

11:27 p.m. Trespass 1450 N, Shelley — 2 white trucked parked in the lane appear to be heading toward their shop and have flashlights all around, have heard approx 4 voices.

Aug 13

8:41 a.m. Animal Complaint — Wilson St, Firth — Have a live trap, have dog in the trap that needs to be picked up.

9:47 a.m. Animal Complaint — W Center St, Firth — Dog loose and tried to attack his dogs in his own yard, brown pitbull mix. the dog bit his dog last week as well. They did report that as well. Resides at the neighbors and is home now.

11:51 a.m. Traffic Complaint — 700 E, Basalt — RP states that there was a dark red GMC Jimmy with a female driver. Passing on a hill driving aggressively.

12:27 p.m. Animal Complaint — 550 E, Firth — Aggressive dog just came onto the property. Brown pitbull mix. RP spoke with the owner. This is a continual problem. (name and address removed).

Aug 14

10:05 a.m. Animal Complaint — 700 N, Firth — RP states that her neighbor’s dog continually barks non stop. Will be the (name removed) Wi be large white dog. RP would like to be contacted.

2:16 p.m. Civil Complaint — 1550 N, Shelley — RP’s boyfriend (name removed) is taking property from the residence and there is a large male that is blocking them from leaving with a boat.

11:32 p.m. Animal Complaint — 900 N, Shelley — RP would like to sign a citation (names and address removed) States that their dogs continually bark through the night.

Aug 15

2:35 a.m. Request Assistance — 1200 N, Shelley — RP just received a call from one of his juvenile children that don’t feel safe and RP has a court order that (name removed) is not supposed to be around the children. (Name removed).

1:29 p.m. Malicious Injury — 1140 N, Shelley — RP’s window to her house got shot some time yesterday. Possibly a bebe gun.

4:11 p.m. Mental Health Issues — 1400 N, Shelley — RP states that his wife is vandalizing the above location. She has been stealing items. There is a CPO in effect from Bonneville County.

4:46 Request Assistance — 675 E, Basalt — RP states there is male with his children running around his property and taking his fruit. RP has since chased them off. RP does not know their names but knows where they live.

7:06 p.m. Animal Complaint — E Wolverine Rd, Firth — RP has two dogs detained ER to shelter.

7:57 p.m. Animal Complaint — 810 N, Basalt — RP stating his neighbors dog attacked his dog and continues to attack other neighbors dogs.

11:56 p.m. Hazard — Interstate 15, Shelley — Tire in the road.

Aug 16

8:22 a.m. Abandoned Vehicle — Wolverine — 3rd party info of a gold colored Kia with no plates that has been parked off the road since last Tuesday. Vehicle will be passed the 2nd cattle guard in a canyon that runs off to the left side.

11:17 a.m. Request Assistance — N Main St, Firth — Male outside the Post Office in a small white truck with a camper shell on it. He was there last week taking pics of RP and her coworkers.

2:48 p.m. Mental Health Issues — 700 N, Firth — (Name removed) threw a 2X4 in their field.

6:16 p.m. Animal Complaint — 1400 N, Shelley — RP states while kayaking yesterday her male brindle pitbull, orange collar no tags left around 7 p.m. and has not shown back up. Is chipped, very friendly, neutered.

7:11 p.m. Request Assistance — 1350 E, Shelley — Stated subject has several boats – stated it’s an eyesore – (name removed) RP would like him talked to.

7:32 p.m. Hazard — Highway 91, Firth — 2 horses in the road 0 Unknown owners

8:21 p.m. Welfare Check — Highway 91, Firth — Stated 3 Hispanic juvenile males are walking towards oncoming traffic, would just like them checked on.

10:07 p.m. Battery — 900 E, Shelley — RP states his son (name removed) came to his house and beat him up, and though he had left but can now see him in the garage.

10:44 p.m. Suspicious Circumstance 00 Firth River Bottoms — RP states there was a man and a female in a U-haul half-ton pickup near the lower boat docks, 300 yards down past the boat docks near a tree with blue painting on it. RP stated they were flashing their headlights and yelling for help so RP went and checked on them. When RP walked up they were throwing items in the bushes and seemed suspicious. Last seen 20 ago. RP can be contacted if needed.

Aug 17

9:29 p.m. RP received a text from someone who said they found her grnd daughter’s phone at the Firth River Bottoms. In the text they advised that they found her purse, fishing gear and some clothing/boots. (Phone number and names removed).
