Bingham County Sheriff’s Log: Oct 13-20
This log is only a partial report of all incidences reported to the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office. It contains only those incidences that occur in northern Bingham County. The Sheriff’s Office handles dozens of emergency calls each week, deploying police, fire, and medical services in this area. Community Pioneer omits individuals’ names and specific addresses. Otherwise, the incident log is reported as written. The following is a list of most of the incidents reported and responded to by Bingham County Deputies between Oct 13-20.
Oct 13
2:50 p.m. Animal Complaint — 1100 E, Shelley — Dogs came on property for 2nd time killed RP’s chickens. Dogs live at neighbor’s address unknown number.
3:41 p.m. Wanted Subject (Arrested) — 750 E, Shelley — (Name removed) trying t leave within next 30 min. At grandparent’s house. Works at JC Penny in Idaho Falls going to leave for work soon.
10:47 p.m. Wanted Subject (Arrested) — 1250 N, Shelley — Step son 19-year-old has a knife and threatening the family. 19-year-old is (name removed).
Oct 14
8:29 a.m. Animal Complaint — Shelley Area — White Husky – female – no collar.
10:45 a.m. Abandoned Vehicle — 900 E, Shelley — Vehicle off the road for the past several days; A white passenger car with 1J plates. It is off the pavement. 1 1/2 miles of Shelley Sugar Factory.
11:14 a.m. Accident — 1100 E, Shelley — Traffic collision / transportation incident null_hit age unknown, gender unknown, consciousness unknown, breathing status unknown. Multiple patients involved: 2.
4:26 p.m. Accident — 800 E, Shelley — Call transferred to language line – white Honda minivan vs a white Toyota Rav 4. There is now blockage. No injuries.
Oct 15
5:36 a.m. Animal Complaint — Shelley Cemetary — 10 black horses out on the road.
9:38 a.m. Animal Complaint — 1200 N, Shelley — Brown pitbull was put in her back yard – requesting we pick it up – unknown owners.
10:43 a.m. Grand Theft — 1400 N, Shelley — Stated last night their housemaids cleaned the house and after they left his wallet and some cash were on his dresser were missing – was about $1,000.
1:13 p.m. Agency Assist — Hard Times, Firth — S Side of Firth behind Hard Times. RP notices open storage unit with items spilling out, no one around. Unit on the end.
1:50 p.m. Civil Complaint — 1090 E, Shelley — Neighbor has made mess on RP’s property, request to speak with deputy about what he should do.
2:34 p.m. Suspicious Circumstance — 825 E, Firth — Stated that someone tried to steal the catalytic converter from under his truck last night – Stated the bolts were cut in half – unknown suspects.
5:08 p.m. Animal Complaint — 1500 N, Shelley — RP states there is a goat in his yard, belongs to his neighbor (name removed). States it’s a repeated issue with their animals. RP has talked to them several times and they won’t listen.
7:42 p.m. Request Assistance — 1200 N, Shelley — RP states he has been getting threatening texts from his older brother, (name removed) who resides in Jefferson County. Also stating he is having mental health issues.
10:18 p.m. Accident — 1250 N, Shelley — One vehicle wreck outside the residence.
Oct 16
7:26 a.m. Animal Complaint — E Wolverine Rd, Firth — Caught a pitbull that was in his sheep. Has the dog detained. Dog has a collar but no tags.
12:42 p.m. Agency Assist — E Wolverine Rd, Firth — RP states that there is a subject in a white GMC Cumings, (license plate number removed), that is trespassing at the above location. RP states that the male left the vehicle on property and left on foot. Probably hunting on the private property.
1:26 p.m. Animal Complaint — E Wolverine Rd, Firth — RP states there was a two-tone brown Chevy pickup with male in the pick up. Male shot a dog. Then the male began screaming at the RP. RP left in a Ford Super Duty pickup, RP en route home, would like to be contacted via land line.
5:34 p.m. Trespass — E River Rd, Firth — Trespassers on their land, says they are “drunk with guns” two males, saying they ran out of gas.
5:51 p.m. Traffic Complaint — Hard Times, Firth — Male driving around Firth speeding and reckless. Was in a Chevy 4-door car, (license plate number removed). Last seen westbound toward the trailer park from Hard Times. 18-year-old male, hispanic males.
7:25 p.m. Request K9 — Interstate 15, Shelley — Red car, slid off the road on the freeway. Not injured. Not blocking.
8:57 p.m. Animal Complaint — 700 N, Firth — (Name removed) dog keeps barking and citations have already been issued previously.
11:14 p.m. Disturb the Peace — 800 N, Basalt — RP’s neighbor (name removed) is playing very loud music and would like it turned down.
Oct 17
5:30 a.m. Missing Person — E Wolverine Rd, Firth — RP’s husband and brother-in-law went hunting yesterday. Last contact was at 8:30 p.m. Familly has been out since midnight last night. They located tracks but are requiring more assistance.
9:03 a.m. Civil Complaint — Shelley Area — RP states that he locked the electrical pannel for his pump and his neighbor (name removed) continually cuts the lock off. RP would like to speak with an officer.
5:13 p.m. Firearm Violation — 1230 N, Shelley — RP states someone is target shooting in a backyard to the east of the RP and does not believe they’re shooting in a safe manner as there is a lot of houses and people close by. RP does not want contacted.
Oct 18
6:09 a.m. Hazard — Interstate 15, Shelley — There is a semi-truck that has his back trailer door open with pallets that will fall out. Occurred 3 ago.
10:48 p.m. Prowler — 1550 N, Shelley — Someone was messing with her car.
Oct 19
11:48 a.m. Hazard — Interstate 15, Firth — Wooden block in the lane of travel.
1:55 p.m. Suspicious Circumstance — 600 N, Firth — Had a male come to her house on Saturday came back again later that day with his vehicle – RP stated it was suspicious – RP requesting an extra patrol in the area.
5:18 p.m. Traffic Complaint — 615 E, Shelley — RP has traffic complaint ref a school bus who was speeding and drove on neighbor’s yard. Occurred 15 ago.
5:54 p.m. Information — Baseline Rd — RP reporting possible drug traffic at location. Off of Baseline Rd near 885 possibly. RP’s step daughter took someone home there recently and advised they had meth pipe in house.
Oct 20
2:12 a.m. Suspicious Circumstance — 600 N, Firth — (Name removed) used to live in the apartment that the RP is currently residing in – she was evicted back in February, however, she continues to come back on occasion ad park in front of the residence – RP is concerned and would like to know what she is doing – she will be in a blue Suburban Tribeca – Unkown if she is the only person in the vehicle.
9:56 a.m. Motorist Assist — Interstate 15, Shelley — Male subject on the side of the interstate with a walker. Vehicle appears to be broken down.
