Kory Maximillian Lesniak obituary

Kory Maximillian Lesniak was born January 29, 1967, in Preston, ID, as the youngest son of Frank and Joyce LuDean Lesniak. He passed away December 25, 2021, in Johnstown, Colorado, of natural causes.

If there are two things to remember about Kory, they are his hard work ethic and his solid presence. Kory believed in a job well done and expected perfection more from himself than anyone else. Kory was an observer. He liked a good prank, and his laughter was memorable. His laugh was often delayed, and the twinkle in his eye provided the only hint he was taking in more than most and was enjoying the moment in his own unique way. His calm demeanor and acceptance of others made you feel like you could be yourself. He was uncommonly open-minded and unassuming. If Kory had your back, you never questioned it.

Kory was a master at his job with Zak Dirt Inc. He loved his job and those he worked with. He excelled there. He devoted his spare time to woodworking, drumming with his band, fixing up his house and yard, and riding his Harley. His amazing talent as an artist was not just imaginative and impressive, it epitomized patience and craft. He made a couch out of an old car trunk. He created a gorgeous stovetop hood, he designed and built the stunning fence and gate around his yard, and he even made his mother and sister Tory’s urns. Kory saw the world around him more colorfully and beautifully because he took the time to see and to make it that way. He crafted an oasis wherever he went, and his kindness drew others to him.

He is survived by his son, Kolton; his best friend and brother Kurty Frank of Johnstown, CO; Tammy Joe of Garden Valley, ID; brothers Kip (Lynette) of Gold Beach, OR, Marty of Johnstown, CO, and Newell of CA; sisters Janice (Craig) Warren of Smithfield, UT, and Lynn (Reed) Cramer of Shelley, ID; sister-in-law Diane of Brandon, MS; his loved nieces, nephews, and extended family; and especially his good friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Kary and Lon, and sister Tory.

Kory’s memorial service will be held on his birthday January 29, 2022, in Loveland, CO.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to a trust fund for his son Kolton. Checks may be made payable to Cindy Farnes (niece) at 305 Sorrel St. Wellington, CO, 80549, or by donating through Venmo to @Kolton-Lesniak, or directly in care of Kolton Lasniak at FNBO Wellington Branch -PO Box 1113, Wellington CO 80549.
