Volunteer fair tomorrow evening at Shelley High School

SHELLEY — Anyone interested in learning about the non-profits in the area and finding new ways to serve and volunteer should visit Shelley High School Thursday evening.

JustServe Shelley is hosting a volunteer fair during the Shelley High School JV and Varsity boy’s basketball games from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Anyone attending the games is invited to visit the various non-profit and service-oriented booths. Those who do will also have the chance to win some free stuff.

“The goal is to help non-profits and volunteers connect,” Kim Adams with JustServe Shelley told Community Pioneer. “Our hope is that as people come to the non-profit booths they’ll learn more about the non-profit; what they’re all about. And they can see them face-to-face.”

Twenty-five non-profits and service organizations between Idaho Falls and Blackfoot will have booths at the fair. A few of those include Kiwanis Club of Shelley, Make-a-Wish Foundation and Elementary PTO.

“If folks go to three different booths and get a stamp, the first 50 people who do that will get a t-shirt,” Adams said.

She also said anyone who shows up wearing a JustServe shirt will get a free Creamie.

The Shelley Supporters of the Arts is also raffling off a gift basket.

“I just think it’s a great opportunity for you to learn some unique ways that you can serve that you might not have thought of otherwise,” Adams said.

Because the fair is being held during the basketball games, the price of admission is purchasing a ticket to any of the games; $6 for adults and $4 for children.
