Mary Call obituary

Mary Ellen Selders Call, 79, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 24, 2022, at The Gables of Shelley. She was under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice. We would like to thank Aspen Home Health and The Gables for the loving care they provided.

Mary was born October 21, 1942, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Lewis Arthur Selders and Laura Villette Brower Selders. She grew up and attended schools in Pocatello and graduated from Pocatello High School.

On May 12, 1961, she married her sweetheart Carlos Arnold Call in the Idaho Falls Temple. Carlos and Mary had been married for 60 years at the time of her death. They made their home in Pocatello, Shelley, and Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Mary was a mother and homemaker for her eternal family.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served three missions, one in the Nauvoo temple, another in Richmond, Virginia, and in the Idaho Falls family history center. She & Carlos served in the Idaho Falls temple for 12 years. Mary served in many callings throughout her life.

She enjoyed working with her hands. Her hobbies included painting, various crafts, sewing, and crocheting. She spent countless hours in her flower garden and loved to share her hibiscus flowers. Mary was well known for homemade candy, including turtles, caramel, fudge, and chocolates. Her most treasured hobby was spending time with her grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her loving husband, Carlos Call of Idaho Falls, ID; children, Carlene (Lex) Carter of Pingree, ID, Kirsten Morrow (Kevin Rudolph) of Ammon, ID, Eric (Anona) Call of Shelley, ID, and Christopher (Celena) Call of Shelley, ID; siblings, Mike (Joan) Selders of Post Falls, ID, Susan “Peggy” (Jerry) Schell of Lyman, WY, and Marjean (Cory) Choules of Pocatello, ID; 18 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Lewis and Laura, brothers, Ted and Jack Selders, and grandchildren, Brandon Morrow, Morgan Taylor Morrow, and DonCarlos Carter.

Services will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at the Victorian Village Ward, 260 Castlerock Lane, with Bishop Nathan Stohl officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Idaho Falls Humanitarian Center.
