Shelley Police Log: July 7-21
The Shelley Police Department handles dozens of emergency calls each week, deploying Police, fire, and medical services. Community Pioneer omits individual’s names and specific addresses. Otherwise, the incident log is reported as written. The following are most of the incidents reported and responded to by the Shelley Police Department between July 7 – 21.
July 7
12:34 pm Request Assistance – W. Fir– SPD left a clipboard and a couple of other items at the residence.Â
4:02 pm Animal Complaint – S. Holmes – There are dogs in the backyard. Reporting party wants dogs checked on.
6:55 pm Civil Complaint – Meadowlark Dr. – Reporting stating her husband (name withdrawn) is at the residence throwing all her stuff out of the residence.  Reporting party is not currently home but in route.Â
7:33 pm Welfare Check – Maple St. – Son texted him saying that he had an argument with the mother, and the stepdad grabbed him and assaulted him. Received the text 20 minutes ago. (Name withheld) is the stepdad. Mother is (name withheld)Â
8:26 pm Traffic Complaint – ATV – S. Park – Reporter stating kids on motorcycles are speeding in the alley. One subject was wearing a red shirt.Â
8:52 pm Traffic Complaint – ATV – S. Milton Ave. – Someone riding a red/black dirtbike in the grass at the church.  Subject wearing tan shirt and helmet.Â
July 8
3:07 pm Animal Complaint – E. Oak – Dog bike on 317. Poss Owner is (name withheld).Â
6:28 pm Animal Complaint – N. Hanson & Cheyenne – Reporting party stating Bro collie type dog got hit by a vehicle. Wearing a black collar. Dog is not deceased but is on the corner.Â
July 9
9:51 am Disorderly Conduct – Shelley Ave. – Reporting party stated that he son is under the influence of Meth.  He is out of control Reporting party is not at the residence, but is back enroute to the residence. Â
11:31 am Civil Standby – Shelley Police Department – Custody exchange at 1200 hrs with (Unknown party). Reporting party will be in (undescribed vehicle).
5:56 pm Civil Stand-by – Pine Ave. – Ex (name withheld) is refusing the reporting party her visitation.  Reporting party would like the officer to respond to assist her. Â
10:26 pm Welfare Check – Aspen Ave. – Req. welfare check on his juvenile daughter stated that it is his ex-wife’s weekend, and she told him that the child was with her However, he just ran into her in Pocatello with her boyfriend. She told him the child is with her parents at the above location. Reporting party would like to be contacted.Â
June 10
1:36 am Suspicious Circumstance – unfounded – Hummingbird Llane – Reporting party is out of town and can see movement on the cameras. Reporting party says her mother and son are at the residence.Â
4:35 pm – Property Damage – E. Pine – Reporting party states someone came inside his yard and stole a boulder, and went through his yard with some machinery. Unknown when this occurred. Â
7:57 pm Indecent Exposure – Unfounded – W. Fir – There is a couple on the lawn that appear to be having sex. They are at the end towards the baseball diamond, by the parking lot. Male has dark hair with a white shirt, female dark hair.Â
July 11
2:33 pm Information – W. Maple – Reporting party requesting to speak to an officer regarding possible narcotics activity.Â
7:30 pm Found Property – Food Plaza – Reporting that a female brought in a wallet that was found outside.Â
9:49 pm Agency Assist – US Hwy 91- Reporting party stated she lives behind Broulims – thought she heard an accident, possibly in that area. Reporting party can’t she anything right now. Â
July 12
3:39 pm Suspicious Circumstance – Shelley City Park – A male attempted to get into Reporting party’s truck and is now sitting on his tan older pickup, possibly a Buick. Male is wearing a blu shirt with sunglasses. White male. He attempted to sell reporting party headphones.
8:43 pm Civil Complaint – S. Milton – Call Reporting party ref civil matter. Needs to pick up her stuff from location.
10:23 pm Mental Health Issues – W. Fir – Reporting party said her neighbor got shot in the foot.  She doesn’t know how.Â
10:36 pm Disturbing the Peace – Quigg Ave. – Can hear several loud voices or a loud TV from somewhere behind his location. Possibly on Park St. Reporting party cannot get out of bed to look out window Request area check. No contact. Â
11:09 pm Open Dor – Shelley High School – Closed door.
July 13
7:34 am Disturbing the Peace – W. Fir – (Unnamed woman) is at the bottom the steps yelling at reporting party thinking someone took her purse.Â
10:07 a. m. Animal Complaint – N. State – Stray white Husky with no collar unable to detain.Â
3:19 pm Agency Assist – N. Park – Attempt to contact an (unnamed woman) who is the R/O of a vehicle was seen traveling SB in there area at approx.. 1500 in which the caller reported a child holding a sign that said: “Help Me.” The caller lost sight of the vehicle. Request welfare check on the child. Â
9:09 pm Abandoned Vehicle – LDS Church S. Park – Reporting party stating there is a Beige Lincoln PC (License withheld) that has been parked in the parking lot for over a month. Reporting party will be on the scene.Â
July 14
6:40 am Animal Complaint – Found – N. Park – Located a female Pomeranian-type dog near park. Reporting party has the dog at his home now. And will keep it until an officer can pick it up.
8:26 am Animal Complaint – Found – S. Milton – Black Lab just wend behind the residence down the alley. Unkn Collar.Â
2:56 pm – Traffic Complaint – GPOD – Blue Hyundai Elant (License No. withheld) keeps swerving into oncoming traffic.Â
July 15
12:17 am – Suspicious Circumstance – Bluebird Ave. – Subject at the storage units. Reporting party would like them to be checked on.Â
2:33 pm. Information – S. State – North of Locust on State here is a manhole cover office and laying approximately 10 feet from the hole southbound lane.Â
5:42 p.m. Wanted Subject – Holly St. Arrested.Â
7:19 p.m. – Disorderly Conduct – W. Fir- State he came to get his girlfriend up and then a male that got in his face, had verbal altercation with him on a road unknown who the male is.Â
July 16
11:00 a.m. Trepass – Berrett Ave. – Reporting party would like her ex-husband (name withheld) from her parent’s residence. States he continually causes issues and does not want him back there. He is not currently there.Â
1:12 p.m. – Accident – Wind River Dr. – Reporting party’s 2019 Jetta car was backed into by a neighbor (name withheld). Reporting party is not home to make the report.Â
10:10 p.m. Public Intoxication – Arrest – S. Milton – Male subject on S. Milton running up and down the roadway. Red shirt and jeans. Possibly under the influence. Last seen NB on Milton.Â
July 17
12:16 a.m. Animal Complaint – Spruce St. – Dog barking and on the loose.Â
7:44 a.m. Welfare Check – Oak St. – Checking on his brother (name withheld). Reporting party has been trying to get in touch with him since the 14th, and no answer. Reporting party concerned his brother’s roommate has a “questionable” past. Reporting party advised he is high functioning special needs person.  Have him call RP.  Â
10:46 p.m. – Suspicious Circumstance – W. Maple – School yard behind the apartments – can see smoke in the area. Poss a having a fire and Juvs being loud poss pay in the area.Â
July 18
1:48 p.m. Traffic Complaint – Cardinal Dr. – Fed Ex driver was speeding through the area. Reporting party confronted him and advised that he didn’t care to slow down.Â
6:20 p.m. Information – E. Center & N. State – Reporting party reporrtijng that there is a grey Dodge Charger (License No withheld) that was unable to maintain lane of travel or speeds. Reporting party is no longer following and does not want sign a citation.Â
July 19
11:05 p.m. Animal Complaint – Baseline Rd. – Reporting party states that there is a Husky in his yard attempting to kill his chickens. Unknown owner.Â
5:57 p.m. Information – S. State – Reporting party states there is a Silver GMC 2500 Truck with a trailer parked blocking the maintenance to Broulims off of the highway. Worried it’s going to cause an accident.Â
July 20
8:35 a.m. Animal Complaint – Found – Edwards – Small dog in her backyard, unknown owner, no collar. White tail with grey on head and back. Has recently been groomed. Reporting party has the dog detained.Â
July 21
11:19 p.m. Information – Shelley Police Department Jeannie is concerned that her identity has been stolen because she received a door hanger from Rocky Mountain Power yesterday to disconnect services within 48 hours.Â
3:21 p.m. Animal Complaint – Found – W. Fir – Husky-type dog running loose in the area. Possibly a female with no collar. Reporting party has the dog detained.
5:15 p.m. Trespass – S. Holmes – Reporting is wanting her boyfriend (unnamed male) trespassed from her residence. Reporting party’s CPO with him was not approved, and she is now wanting him trespassed. He is not currently at the residence.Â
