Joseph “JC” Orme Obituary

In Loving Memory of JC Orme —

JC Orme’s journey began on the family ranch and the familiar streets of Idaho Falls, Idaho. He spent most of his time at the ranch in Bone, Idaho. He was a standout athlete during his high school years, excelling in both football and boxing.

In 1960, JC embarked on a lifelong journey with Anna Lou Winborg, building a beautiful life in Shelley, Idaho, on their family farm. Together, they raised five remarkable children.

JC’s passion for agriculture was evident early on as he worked with registered cattle and later, sheep. His college degree in Agriculture Science reflected his deep-rooted love for animal husbandry, and he could talk endlessly about his cherished animals. After many years at the INL, JC retired to the farm.

His devotion extended to his grandchildren, often leading to impromptu adventures that worried the mothers, but left the children with beaming smiles and ice cream-smeared faces upon their return.

JC and Anna Lou found solace and joy in their time at Squirrel Meadows, a place brimming with sentimental significance due to his father’s sheep herding history and JC’s own cherished memories.

JC was a devoutly religious man, spending his later years immersed in church history books.

He is now reunited with loved ones who preceded him in death: his father, Parley Pratt Orme; mother, Mary Orme; brothers, Marion and Harold Orme; sisters, Linda and Shirley; and his daughter, Amy Orme Higham.

JC is survived by his sister, Kay (John) Costley; loving wife, Anna Lou Orme; his sons, Jason (Cindy), Scott (Marla), Chris (Tina), Jerry Higham; daughter, Kate (Eric) Miller; 19 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 20, 2023, at the Goshen Ward Building, 792 North 1090 East, Goshen, Idaho.
